Make your own salads, don't skip breakfast it ruins your metabolism.
For the time being i have been not really been hungry in the mornings which i haven't been eating as a result. I know the whole don't skip breakfast thing, and to be honest if i see a cereal i like i may pick it up, seen a special k one with honey the other week which sounds nice enough. Although i did have half a tuna butty this morning before i got ready for work.

Plus making my own salads is crap. I don't enjoy them, and as a subway salad is the same price, not really going to stress myself on how healthy a salad is as long as the majority of what i am eating is veg. Doesn't mean i am eating unhealthy in that way, tuna and ham type toppings over the fatty ones

It's so easy to skip breakfast, need to get into the routine.

I've struggled this week eating chicken or turkey omelette. Avocado smoothie tomorrow morning

Think it has been more to do with avoiding sugar still. I still have that mind set so until i am happy with my weight so to speak then i will still avoid the 'unhealthy' cereals. If i see one i would enjoy then great, my son for arguments sake has weetabix plain every morning. Not really anything that but i'm not pushing sugar on the kids anyway lol

Will keep it in mind over the weekend in seeing if there is any cereal that stands out, any half decent special ks.

If you're stuck for time just have a fruit for breakfast. It is important to eat breakfast as mentioned but you don't need to make a big thing of it.

I guess a little update for anyone who cares still ;)

The diet is off now i think. I am still trying to lose weight sure, but considering the overall message of it being a long term thing, i have kind of give up trying to diet in the conventional sense. I have started getting eubway salads for lunch, mainly because they are really nice and balls to calories, still eating majority vegetables even if they are looked down on. I have started eating quite minimalistic during the day as well, so not really eating breakfast again like i used to be and only really yoghurt or fruit after the salad.

The aim as always is to drop weight every monday, but it will be much slower than before, so a pound or two a week is still going to push me in the right direction and overall i want to have that drive to keep dropping so won't be gorging on sugar and fatty stuff, nothing will change as such, just won't be counting calories or panicking if i have something unhealthy.

So new weight loss goal is around 15 weeks maybe? 2 pounds a week for 15 weeks equals just over 2 stone?
I still care Ash! I guess the main thing here is that you are happy with yourself. No point making yourself miserable if you're really into it.

It just wasn't viable to keep up a proper diet in the way I started but overall I am still aiming to lose weight so still on that path haha

Still at least 2 stone off my target weight and I know more active I am the quicker I will get there so probably over time I may snap back into a more active routine like before. just a shame the last 2 weeks happened next to each other, made it impossible to keep going BUT breaking 15 stone is the next step which I will be made up doing!

One of my favourite lunches is rocket, watercress and spinach, mackerel fillets (the ones in the vacuum sealed packs from the supermarket, not the tinned mush) and thai sweet chilli sauce. Dead simple, tastes amazing.

There's a very simple rule to losing weight Ash - less in, more out.

You can lose weight slowly and safely by simple things like cutting down on portion size, not eating fried food, not having dressing or mayo on salads etc, no snacking on junk, cutting down the ale . Eating sensibly, combined with moderate excercise and you'll get there ;)

That was kinda what I was doing before but I just found it bland and boring tbh. after like what 2 months if doing it, just something gave lol

That is kids what I am moving into. plus the more I spend time doing it, the more likely it is to stick. for arguments sake the past 2 weeks was bad, but as I was active the weight loss was quite minimal so that suggests that long term the weight will stay off me! I wasn't stuffing my face with sugar and the like either so again it's easier to manage long term rather than still crash diet and it becomes untenable. like the salads I was making, they were a bit crap in all honesty

The breakfast metabolism stuff is nonsense, sorry. It makes no difference.

Lots of people live very healthily by rarely ever eating breakfast, and it's a great fasting method which can lose to significant weight gain.

So you saying not eating breakfast won't lead to gaining weight or will?

Right now if I don't have it, it's just because I'm not hungry so not going out my way to eat and just having a coffee or two instead

Yeah, but for some odd reason, you would decide on one meal and eat that only. Never understood why you were so averse to diversity.

Haha I was trying to eat what was advised, fish for protein.

Same reason I don't eat jacket potatoes or rarely pasta and stuff. thst seemed to be the meal that was left after all that was taken away
