That is the end game yeah, be able to relax my diet and then go back to be able to eat things that i am avoiding now, knowing full well on a whole my intake is much better for me. As people have advised i am looking at foods a bit closer and trying to work out proteins and stuff for dinner over carbs (after today lol ) but yeah, trying to take all this advice i get and turn it into a working action plan.

You'll be surprised once you start eating 90% well, my mate used a PT online and paid for it, basically someone who would design a training plan and meal plan for him - not that am advocating doing that as you can find most of the right information out one the internet and put it together yourself, but he had such dramatic results i was shocked.

he went form the usual, brekkie bar early morning, butty crisps for tea, regular tea at night, to eating 3 big meals which still included pizza! (well it was from muscle food protein pizza - defo check that out) He love it, sticks to it and he is moving now onto a bit more of a free diet.

good work there mate!

Should mix it up - you'll be surprised how much you'll burn off doing a heavy weight session. Squats, dead lifts things like that you'll burn calories for days because of the muscles used.

I used to go in and just do cardio - i felt like my body was shrinking away from me, not just fat but muscle too. But saying that, my mate just goes and runs marathons and likes the look he has so its each to their own really mate!

Loads of articles out there that advocate weight training apposed to cardio, but its just what works for you and what you want really.
I know I should start . I've got some minor surgery this week so when I start the gym again Next week I think I'll give it a go . Is low weight high rep any good for weight loss ?

Aren't the things you're avoiding right now bacon butties and Fray Bentos pies?

It's recommend you just knock them off completely, soon enough they just completely fall off your radar. For instance, we haven't had anything you'd call a microwave meal in our house for a good few years.

It can be mate, I do volume training. So say for example bench press, 7 sets of 15 reps. 2 sets warm up at a ok weight and then attempt to up the weight each set until you are on failure.

There is some good plans and that out there if you wanted ill dig them out and pm them over.

EDIT: should note, that its as heavy as you can go without compromising the way you lift the weight! but lifting this way will build up strength pretty fast.

Also - a good point was made about water.

I carried a bucket load of water weight before i know about making sure i was drinking enough - you'll probably find if you up your water intake you'll lose a bit of weight pretty quickly too.

I drink about 4 litres of water a day now, probably a little more with having a coffee and tea and that... I know it knocks me sick to think about it.

Just get one of them 1.5 litre buxton bottles and fill it up twice...

Plus it makes your skin silky smooth :blush:lollollol

They aren't staples of my diet lol If anything i have had like 3 of those pies in 2 years, bacon butties was a random thing, so maybe one a week.

I don't want to not eat things if that makes sense. I think there has to be a difference between not eating a kebab for obvious reasons but never touching something like a microwave pizza, or a random burger every now and again or whatever. Granted months down the line i won't be looking at chocolate and immediatly thinking of it as anything more than a random treat, but even portion size is going to have a ripple effect. I didn't necesserily eat terrible but perhaps too big a portion at times. So eating smaller portions will become the norm and eventually on the whole less will be more when it comes to food.

Ash... if you like pizza, here is a good idea for tea - so long as it fits the macronutrients your working too.

half of http://www.musclefood.com/meals/protein-pizza/high-protein-pizza-chicken-pepper.html with green beans, as much peppers, onions as you want, and a hand full of oven chips.

My mate had that on the set diet for 6 weeks as his tea and honestly it shed off him. he was training every day like but with everything he was eating he was utterly shocked.

Tonight's tea.

Chicken breast. Carrott and swede mash instead of potato mash and a steam bag of veg.

Kind of made a plateful in the end which was a bit more than I anticipated but essentially my tea was a plate of chicken and veg. Must he 2 of my five a day plus the 3 fruit so least it's healthy

Surely 4 litres is way too much. Can't you end up making yourself really ill by drinking too much water? Something about watering down the sodium levels in your body too much.

4 litres of water is ridiculous, I've seen sharks drink less.
