Thing is if we continue to be a selling club and god forbid sell Ndaiye then this crappy upheavel will prove DaveK right.

To be fair, I think the only players that we sell now are the ones considered by the club to be "deadwood".
If Iliman Ndiaye were to go in the summer, it wouldn't be because we had to sell him to balance the books or anything like that.

The club had to close the top decks on east and west stands and elsewhere in the lower decks.

Scotland could fill 3/5ths only.

As I said though, my main gripe is with Everton's money grubbers who's eyes are too big for their stomach. The stadium was always going to dwarf the demand for that game, and that made it look like a poorly attended game - which in turn hits the credibility of the stadium.

People paying the extra for the 3 hours pre game drinking time couldn't have anticipated they'd have to miss around 60% of that because it'd be midweek games, its unprecedented.

Are you stupid? Its not hard to understand. When the game is midweek people who work normal hours through the week won't be getting to the ground 3 hours beforehand to have a bevy. Around 60% of our home games have been midweek.

The Scots were a washout too. Last friendly game on this island and they're at the World Cup and they muster about 29,000.

Made not far off 1m quid last night for next to nothing. Just opened their doors to a game of footy during a period of down time.

I'd have NO sports* there for the foreseeable until that stadium is established as Everton's ground by Evertonising it.

The rest of the country knows this stadium as a sports facility rather than being the home of Everton. West Ham had this haunting them over that place they're in now: most people thought of it for years as that place that the Olympics were held at.

By all means fill it in the summer with music events and the like. But sporting team events - no.

That's because it was. It was 4 years after the Olympics that West Ham moved in. One huge summer of athletics, which got the country on a high, in a purpose-built stadium. 4 years of remembering it as the London 2012 Olympic stadium, with Velodrome and Aquatics centre still in place. Then West Ham started playing their home games there.

That's a whole heap of difference to hosting a Rugby League game and an International match during the first season.

And Everton aren't competing for space. You're making yourself look sillier than usual there. When the ground isn't being used by Everton, we are making money by hosting other events, sports and matches. Once we have to shift a fixture, or play in a different ground, to accommodate some other general sporting event then you'll have a valid point.

The West Ham comparison isn't apt, because that was built for the Olympics. This has been built for football, and is now getting other events sprinkled in. Plus, they weren't even expecting 20k to turn up last night, so getting almost double that is a win-win.

Plenty of Scots last night around us asking how it feels on a normal matchday and saying we've got the best stadium they've been to. It's a jewel.

Also, the amount of times I've heard "Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium" puts to bed any fears that people think it isn't ours
