New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Congestion problems aren't a surprise here. One of the main reasons I wasn't keen on the location in the first place is that 3 sides of a stadium are surrounded by water. There's only ever going to be one way in and out.

We knew the dock walls could only be opened in small places.

It was obvious there would be huge congestion problems.

If you are in the stand adjacent to the Mersey and you don't leave sharpish on or before full time, your only escape is to walk past one side of the ground - with a limited pathway on both sides.

Now it was obvious all this would be problematic and we had years of preparation time - should have known the council in this city would be useless and do pretty much nothing so it was down to us to try and make it right.

Which we haven't, mainly because it's not possible in a location with only one road in and out.

What I don’t get is why the pitch is bigger than Goodison? I get that the ‘Gwladys’ has switched ends but there is absolutely nothing to make the players feel even vaguely that the ground is familiar.

I mean, they are probably still getting used to the fact that there’s hot water in the toilets.

I get that designs change, but any idea why the South stand was originally meant to be a single tier stand and then changed?

In the next few years the west stand and south stand supporters will be able to use a riverside walk into town once that development being prepared for now is completed. It'll be a lovely riverside walk.

Everything about this stadium apart from transportation and the obvious presentation of it exclusively for the ambulance chasers is wonderful.

Its just a pity we have nothing on the playing side worthy of such a stadium.

It is an air raid siren. What connection has an air raid siren with a 21st century football match? Do you think it has any negative connotations in an area the Germans tried to obliterate?

🤣 Spot on.

The Pier Head's full of war memorials and a mile up the road Everton are filling the air with air raid wardens.

Un'kinbeliavable when you think of it.

Just play z-cars and have done with it.

'kin air raid warnings. It reminds me of Two Tribes and those horrendous Canny Farm wallopers in any case.

I asked a steward what was the purpose of the security check which serves to cause unnecessary congestion just inside the dock wall. The guy in front had emptied his pockets of keys and coins. The steward just grinned and waved me through. It's his job I suppose.

Keep the sirens but jib any suggestion of there she goes being a regular somg pre game. Its a decent song but its miles away from being a decent footy anthem
Its an upbeat song...any song that's upbeat will feel out of whack right now.

We need an anthem of resistance and fortitude but not a funereal paced one.

We shall not be moved.

Great hearing that again. It's our song.

No. I think it’s just a noise to try and create an atmosphere before the game.

I like it, but do understand that we have to nitpick absolutely everything about the new ground.
