New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Just purely for my info... how do we know that?

I stated clearly that it's my guesstimate at what the last two games will be officially pegged at. To me it's easy enough to see. I'll be very surprised if the numbers I suggested for the Brentford and Wolves games aren't give or take on the money.

That means that over and above corporates not being able to flog on their tickets we are haemorhaging support at this stadium.

When you factor in the variables like the weather / freezing, it being post Christmas / New Year, people are skint, it being a mid week and the kids are back at school, so it`s a late night for them, I`d pretty much say it`s the total norm for this time of year.

But words like " haemorrhaging " make it sound much more apocalyptic and suits your continual narrative of bashing the corporate sponsors.

I`d wager every evening game last night wasn`t a sell out, but you crack on.

Once the weather picks up and people have a bit of money back in their pockets, it`ll be pretty much back to normal.

I said all that above cloth ears. Lol.

On the more substantive issue of drop off in attendance: subtracting away supporters will make Everton supporter attendance about 49K top whack - if they all turn up.

Subtract the corporate no-shows and empty seats from not selling tickets and that's bringing Evertonian involvement for last night down to circa 47K...possibly lower.

At this stage without success all the shouts for a 60K stadium are nowhere near warranted.

Yet, as per usual you try and make out like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are flying in the skies above the ground.

It’s hardly surprising people are voting with their feet.

There’s a plethora of different reasons, none of it is surprising.

There will thousands of empty seats on Saturday too

It'll have been about 1200 short of capacity last night (officially anyway). About 51,600 at a guess. Maybe slightly more were there for the Brentford game.

All season it's been about 52,200-52,500 or thereabouts, so the Christmas period + colder weather + more night games are effectively combining to knock about a thousand off our gate.
There was way more than 1200 empty seats

By using the word haemorrhaging?

Common enough phrase for a leaking of something or other.

If I'm right on the 51,000+ figure for last night, it'll be interesting to see if there's any fall to 50,000+.

That'll be a blow to prestige and the club might want to start being constructive with pricing to avoid that humiliation.

Alternatively, we have gone from having 36k Evertonians at Goodison to circa 47k at BMD which is a 30% increase on match going attendees even when we don’t sell out which was obvious last night.

I wouldn't doubt it mate, but it's going to be difficult for us (as opposed to the club who'll know precisely) to extract the figures between corporate paid for 'no show' clients and how many have not wanted to buy a ticket for the game.

As I said above: the avoidance of publishing the Brentford and Wolves attendances (for now) will be down to a bit of embarrassment.

Yes, there are seasonal reasons for it, but that only explains some of the drop off, and to avoid attendance dropping any further the club should be getting tickets out to people in the community for either free or small fees to pack this stadium out. And next season there should be a rethink on pricing: not only should the tickets not be raised they should be lowered.

I said before we moved in here for the past few years that our fan demographic is at odds with a plush stadium's normal pricing. We have many fans who live in some of the most economically challenged (ie poor) council wards in the country. Everton stadium co ltd or whatever they're called have to start recognising that.
