Yup. The Friedkins might be quicker to show ambition or even communicate once in a while with a fanbase who didn't turn up to be willingly fleeced no matter what dross was presented for their delectation. If being ok with paying £7 for a sausage roll is tory, what is paying nearly 1k to watch 19 football matches?
I love this site, but one thing I struggle with is how your admirable intolerance of poor language sits alongside the ability to emoji a middle finger at unsuspecting posters.
Personally, I think the odd swear word is far less aggressive and anti-social than a middle finger. Either way, there's an inconsistency there somewhere.
Thank you for allowing me to drag this excellent thread off-topic. I'll stop now.![]()
It’s not nearly one thousand pounds. It’s about £750 isn’t it? (I can’t remember what I paid). If being ok with paying £7 for a sausage roll is tory, what is paying nearly 1k to watch 19 football matches?
Just not how support works tho, not sure about how long you’ve supported Everton but it’s been my whole life and I do because my dad did who has also supported him his whole life, through thick and thin and in spite of who owns us at this current moment and certainly even when the prices of sausage rolls rise!Yup. Here's a 2-4 hiding at home to Brentford. You'll take it, pay for it, and enjoy it.
A season ticket is like paying your Union subs but the staff canteen is lining the owners pockets. If being ok with paying £7 for a sausage roll is tory, what is paying nearly 1k to watch 19 football matches?
Well, thanks for the answer. Genuinely. Your forum, your rules. But you don't think middle fingers lower the tone of the place? Makes no sense to me. But fair play for taking the time to respond.Language policy is largely dictated- ad partners, and SEO ranking. Though Id keep it regardless, I think there's a broken window theory effect. If everyone was swearing, the tone of the place and standards would fall.
As for the middle finger reaction emoji. Think of it as a pressure cooker. Angst is inevitable on an Everton forum and sometimes someone needs piping down and an emoji is as nice a way to do it as possible. If someone can't cope with a middle finger reaction emoji, they're perhaps not well suited to a forum. Equally, if I note someone has a particularly high amount of middle fingers received, it indicates they're a bit iffy.
It wasn't always like that, though. In the past, boards would sack managers when crowds fell off. They don't fall off now in anything like the same way because the league is globalised. So you and your Dad and other loyal faithful fans don't even have that route to protest anymore even if you wanted to. Your empty seats would soon be taken by some South Korean tourists.Just not how support works tho, not sure about how long you’ve supported Everton but it’s been my whole life and I do because my dad did who has also supported him his whole life, through thick and thin and in spite of who owns us at this current moment and certainly even when the prices of sausage rolls rise!
how do other clubs furnish once a season stadium visitors?
That's not paying Jack Grealish's salary, though.I went to the pre season game v United in Atlanta and they do 'fan first' pricing thing on the food and drink, everything is dead cheap and based on selling more stuff overall as fans are more likely to buy at a lower price, we got a refillable coke for $4 and some brisket sandwiches for $6 which were top drawer, the food at HD is a racket tbfView attachment 339120
