New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Maybe I was there at 2.35 then mate and not half past but the queues to get in the dock wall at that time were certainly not fine. They were a joke.

It's the first time I've seen it like that so I'm not saying it is the norm but they ramped it up today for some reason
Definitely more checks going on today, there must've been a raised alert level or something

Those trains were borderline dangerous between moorfields/hamilton square on the wirral line. Had my 9yr old lad with me and had to push a few people out the way to prevent him getting squashed. People just piling on when the trains full. To be fair issue is more with the merseytravel staff who stood there and didnt seem to know how to control a large amount of people. Theyre always a bit busy but today seemed alot worse.

Sorry if you had a different experience but I was through pretty quickly with no issue.

There’s more than one gate you know.

We tried gates directly opposite the blue houses, the ones to the left of that and the ones further right. All exactly the same. The only ones we never went to are the two furthest north near the UU works.

When we got into the club view i looked out the window over the fan plaza and the queues on regent rd still looked big.

Nobody is making this up mate. It happened, fact. I love the stadium, generally so am not slagging it for the sake of it. Just don't want to see a repeat of that today cos it was a joke.

People just look for any fault with the ground when we lose.

It becomes boring.

Goodison was never a fortress for games like this.
You’re absolutely right of course, but I badly miss going to the Winslow for a few and then over the road to climb up the to the top balcony.

The new stadium is magnificent, it truly is. Stunning in fact! But it’s unbelievably difficult to let go of a routine you’ve done so many times before over many many years.

Getting in today was the worst I've known it. Getting through the dock wall at 2:30 the queues were horrendous, never seen it so bad. The metal detector single file thing is a farce. Does any other stadium do this?? Even when it goes off they don't actually search anyone, the whole thing is ridiculous.
I got there at around 2.20, and it was noticeably busier than usual and slower getting in. The security at our gate were on a go slow.

The stadium is the only thing that consistently doesn't disappoint about this club.

I get that people miss their old Goodison haunts but this stadium isn't the issue: it's a glorious affirmation of who we were and what we must become again.

It's setting standards, and if managers and players aren't up to it then they shouldn't survive in such an environment given that we apparently have owners with the wherewithal to buy better.
