Chelsea have a 43k capacity stadium, Newcastle has a 53k capacity one, Sunderland has 49k one, are Chelsea looking on envious at the ambition and success enjoyed by both those stadiums with their much greater ground capacity?
Highbury had a 39k capacity, Emirates has a 60k one, how have Arsenal enjoyed the greater success a new bigger stadium has brought hem mate?
Various factors bring success, a BIG ground i'd hardly rate as being one of them like
As for your anti Italian footy tirade, bit odd, when i was illustrating the bigger grounds haven't translated to those teams being more successful than teams with smaller ones mate?

Most often the ground capacity line is trotted out to get supporters to sign off on a ground move that for the owners makes great commercial sense - usually at the cost to the actual local match going fans normally.
For us, we are in a very lucky spot that the location is infinitely better than the current location (save for the history ofc), the rs and us being so close shouldn't also destroy the local area such as with west hams move (although the rs have tried to do that themselves over the years already).
Funny to see people shouting we need a stadium 5-10k bigger than Man Cities is though, like seriously we live in a split city, and not a massive one either in the scheme of things, we have two massive clubs now within 30 miles cutting hugely any spillover sup[port outside Merseyside, and most of the 'tourist market' is already locked down to clubs as per usual we missed the boat when the league exploded twice in popularity.
But apparently we will sell out 10k corporate per week easy, will have 20k tourists flying in for match days so we need 60-65k...

Chelsea are looking to move to a 60k stadium and have been trying to move for many years. I seem to remember their failed attempt to convert the Battersea Power Station into a stadium; obviously meaning that having a big stadium has always been high on their agenda.
Arsenal have won 3/4 FA Cups. The league has eluded them, but it doesn’t mean to say they won’t win it. Many of their fans believe that Wenger is the issue.
Your arguments are weak. The four biggest clubs in the World:
Real Madrid - 80,000
Barcelona- 105,000 (soon)
Bayern Munich - 75,000
Man Utd - 76,000
Having a stadium with a big capacity sends out a statement of intent. Anything lower than 60,000 is disappointing, anything lower than 55,000 is an absolute disgrace.
You focused primarily on Serie A to try and prove a point. It is a ridiculous league to compare to the global powerhouse that is the Premier League.

Serie A is closer in attendance to League One than it is to the Premier League, the culture of going to the match is totally different.
Juve’s Last average attendance in the De Alpi before they left was 25k
Their last attendance in the Olympic stadium before they left was 23k, they still don’t even sell out the new stadium every game. The comparison just doesn’t work.
You could point out that they increased their average attendance by about 90% though.
Arsenal, Spurs, chelsea etc are all far more attractive teams, that are currently doing far better than we are, have fan bases that earn alot more than us Scousers, are in a city that is far far bigger and has 100x more tourists coming through each day. Yet people keep on comparing our case to theirs? That is just silly.
Those clubs are in a far better position to sell out stadiums due to the reasons above, yet they all chose around 60k Capacity.
I would say Around 55 is the max we could pull in a feasible way.

In large part due to a lot of the Italian stadiums being simply awfully designed for football and being leftovers from other purposes such as dual purpose with running tracks etc, and miles away from the pitch in them.
noticeable that both Juve and now Roma are downsizing at a time attendances are growing, but doing so with the purpose of future expansion and with creating a very hostile atmosphere. The Juve model is actually a decent one, they are in a very divided city support wise in turin, dont have a huge city population, and arent in rome/london or other such tourist mecca.

If Goodison from next season had a 100k capacity all of a sudden, it would make absolutely no difference to the size, success or appeal to none die hard evertonians whatsoever.
Who gives a flying whatever about statement of intent now in reality, we got caught up in thinking that was important in the past with transfers etc

Normally its the other way around, they become successful, create far more demand and then with that demand they go onto build a better stadium.
Right now we are trying to build a stadium, and this demand is all of a sudden going to appear out of thin air. that makes zero sense.
Its already pretty much fact, that must clubs who build stadiums have to cut back on transfer costs, to make repayments. How are we going to compete, become far better than we are currently to create demand, at the same time as trying to pay off 500+ Million of debt?
It would be different if our billionaire owner was willing to pay for it all by himself, but that isn't happening.
Its the chicken before the egg situation, and I'm sorry to say evolution isn't on our side.

They didn’t downsize in reality though did they, they built a stadium that was almost double their average attendance.
A similar leap for us would mean a 75k stadium which is obviously silly, they still don’t sell out 42k so there obviously wasn’t a need for 50000+
Roma’s new stadium is over a 60% increase in their average attendance which would leave us at 64k.
Attendances aren’t growing in Italy, in fact last season they were at their lowest for 10 years.
These sides building relatively small new stadiums simply attract less fans than we do, it’s nothing to do with ambition.

Out of thin air?
There’s thousands of people waiting for season tickets.
The evidence of almost every new ground built in the last 20 years shows a big bump in attendance.
Ah the mythical 10000 people on the waiting list, same one liverpool fans cry out about.
In reality their are thousands of people who put their name down, only to not take one when giving the opportunity..
If their was such a demand, we wouldn't be having to sell half season tickets.
If fact we also average around 1000 below full capacity Don't we?

I think a lot of people are working on this assumption but is it actually true?
I've got loads of mates who trot out the 'I'm not paying £40 to sit behind a post' line, but then if they get offered a ticket for free in a decent spot they still don't go. They'd rather watch it in the pub having a few beers, or in some cases just do something else entirely and just check the result later. A lot of people would like to project the image that they're real hardcore fans, but when it comes to it, they just can't be bothered to turn up.
