The club backed themselves into a corner, from a consumer duty point of view. You can't sell memberships for £30-60 a pop with one of the main selling points being that it gives exclusive access to the resale site, only to later throw that sale open to everyone when supply is outstripping demand - people who'd paid to be members would be demanding a refund.
The membership will be having some impact but I think it’s often overstated. Fact is it’s a cold, wet night with an awkward kick off time, a non-glamorous opponent and we’re a boring team who’ve not won any of our last 6 home games. I genuinely just don’t think we have a big enough supply of people who want to go to games like those, I’ve never really understood why people were convinced we did.

I agree to an extent. My cousin has a ST and his seat was empty tonight because he's picking and choosing which night games he cba booking the afternoon off work for. He missed the Wolves match and tonight's game, and that's with a ticket he's already paid for.

Said it over and over and over now and I know loads of people will cringe but the answer is a singing section. It was the answer at the start of the season, it was the answer yesterday, its the answer today and it'll be the answer tomorrow. Go and get it done for next season right now Everton.
The players could do with singing off the same hymn sheet!

Goodison rocked once last season. After the equaliser in the derby. Present the exact same scenario at BMD and the place would rock just as much.
Indeed.

I went to 12 games at Goodison last season and I've never known such a quiet stadium.

Our new home is a huge improvement, but it's the same quiet fans and the same poor football.

We’re on for potentially the worst home campaign in our PL history so that might be one reason why the atmosphere isn’t great. Win more games, might be a start.

People talk a lot about winning games but I actually think the atmosphere is more down to pinning a team back and feeling like a goal is coming. Feels like that's a lot harder to do in the Premier League these days with teams having more quality.

I’m sick and tired of the cretins around me. No helpful words cross their lips, just an endless stream of LAD, calling every player crap, and going red in the face.

Listen, I love a shout. I especially love a moan, but I don’t shout just to hear the sound of my own voice.

Go and find something else to do. Jesus Christ.
Agreed. How do we expect this to improve our players' performance?

Mate no disrespect.............Goodison has rocked on many times in my life. The point is........ this is a settling in period for fans ,players and routines.
Yeah its rocked loads of times in my life to mate. Those days are gone. Football has changed and not for the better. Half the fans who made the atmosphere what it was have been priced out and out of those of us who are left a large chunk demand more for their money. I can sadly count on one hand the total number of times Goodison truly rocked in the last five years we played there. Its nowt the to do with settling in to the new place. Its that a large chunk of the fanbase of give up hope and another chunk demand more for their dosh and won't just clap and cheer for anything.

Yeah so many night games, especially in the middle of winter, is a nightmare.

Totally agree with this. Even pressing from the front and looking purposeful gets the crowd up for us, but we’ve really struggled to do that this season. Even when we’re behind it often feels like we’re taking ages over fee kicks and throw ins when the crowd would respond to them speeding things up.

Bore myself and everyone else saying it time and time again but the full back situation kills us so much. You can't force the opposition into their own 18 yard box with two players as bad as Mykolenko and O'Brien on the ball. They're either not giving us an option at all or killing momentum when it does come their way.

I wholeheartedly agree with this take and I don't care if people cringe at it. Back at Goodison, the Lower Gwladys was easily the most vocal home section of the ground and we are currently lacking a similar singing section. It is frustrating when the atmosphere at the new ground fizzles out just as quickly as it starts to build up. I sat in the Lower Gwladys for several years and I miss chanting at regular intervals throughout matches, though I must hold my hands up somewhat as I am never one to start a chant. Yet, I am almost always happy to join in with chanting.
