New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

but when you see so many tickets on resale struggling to shift you begin to understand why a 60k+ stadium would have been a huge mistake.
Once again someone p1ssing on 60k plus argument.

The fact is there's a number of factors that there's resale tickets, genuine ones put out by persistent night games etc while inflated prices are equally damaging. Let's not forget poor result creating a negative cycle of people wanting to resell their seat.

60k plus would have allowed more "genuine" fans, many coming off the waiting lists or more infrequent fans such as me.

The demand is there, it's just that the club has made a pigs ear of the whole matchday experience from buying tickets, cost, getting in the ground, etc, since the move. They ripped up what was in place at Goodison and started many new things at BM. Too much change.

And fk Seat Unique off.

the 53k v 60k argument will be settled in a couple of years once the new stadium novelty has worn off and the tickets can be resold/exchanged more readily/bought on gen sale

Because people are unable to use basic thinking and problem solving skills.

It’s the same with the toilets in the lower south. The ones right by the stairs into the bowl are rammed but if you just walk a mere minutes further down, you can just stroll in.

Ive gone down on 40th minutes for the round and been stood watching the end of the half by 43/44. If its just drinks, the fast pass
Google: what’s the problem with a sizeable minority on GOT?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the ground in itself. All the problems around it are either entirely unrelated to the ground itself or just daft little things that can be sorted easily.

The football being terrible and the atmosphere not being great because of that, along with the long standing community feel of Goodison being gone can all be sorted with enough effort from the club. The same is true of transport to and from the place and the access issues. Hopefully lessons have been learned this season so that we'll have a much better experience in 26-27.

Unfortunately, there's nowt to be done about the seemingly endless night games as the club have taken the thirteen peices of silver for them. Its just part and parcel of the ugly nightmare that is football in 2026.

There's nothing about the concourse or the music and all other minor gripes that can't easily be fixed overnight with some commonsense.

We have had such a difficult few years with very little to get behind. It is such a miserable, dark cold time of year combined with the poor home performances the atmosphere is going to suffer. I suspect there will be a more positive feel towards the end of the season following some spring fixtures. I have no doubt that long term this will be deemed a big success

As well as some people seemingly causing their own problems, many just outright lie about it. I saw numerous people talking about the problems that huge queues at the wall caused a few weeks ago, saying they missed kick off and had queued for half an hour and whatever, it was just totally untrue. I arrived at the wall about 10 minutes before kick off, saw a huge queue and feared the worst but I was in my seat before the teams even came out. A mate arrived after me, used a different gate and sits in a different stand and he was also there in time for kick off. It just didn't happen but people moaned about this imagined scenario for some reason.

Some people will lie about anything to get their opinion across or own way. It's sad but it's the world we live in.

Probably bad parenting.

I do miss Goodison terribly though, but I'm determined to love the new place (I think that's more what I mean).
Never been very good with words me!
See, I get this. However, I had many Goodison experiences that just made me miserable. I’m 6 foot and the amount of times my legs pressed into the seat in front of me. The amount of rubbish games and poor atmospheres I experienced.

The amount of times I went down for a pint at half time and had to leave it because the second half had kicked off.

What I miss more is the routine. I miss going the Oak with my dad and some of my family members. I miss going night games on my own and parking outside my now deceased grandads house, even though it’s now somebody else’s and unrecognisable to me, I miss standing outside the Winslow with some beers from an offy and just drinking cold, wind, rain, sun, and just having fun. Hopefully all of this will come in time at the new place.

What I did miss, strangely is the bus welcomes from our relegation threatened seasons. Although it was horrible at the time it really brought us all together. The flares, the dog, the bus trying to squeeze down Goodison road, the air was blue, the signing, the atmosphere and trepidation, it was fantastic.

I hate the fact nobody has sorted this for a game at Hill Dicko. When are we all going to gather outside the stadium blue flares aloft and welcome the team bus in? I would love it for the derby!

That’s what I miss. Oh little story about my grandads house. I went through a little phases of going up and touching his door handle. For the Everton Palace game I was with my mate and we parked and walked out of the street. I turned around to my mate and said ‘I won’t forgive myself’. I ran back, crept up the driveway, held his doorhandle and said a few words in my head, the rest as they say is history.

I mean the fact so many are available easily on resale and we aren't filling them up easily still supports the argument 60k wouldn't have done as well.

I'd have loved a 60k stadium but seeing it 1/3rd empty just because we are in bad form or it's a midweek game would have been awful.

And yet I’ve never had to que at the gate. Only time I’ve ever had to que at a turnstile was the friendly against Roma, since then I’ve pretty much just walked in. I get food and drink before every game and the longest I’ve waited is like 5 minutes.
I literally missed 30 mins of the Roma game because of the ridiculous gates and queues. It's been fine since mind you

The thing is, we would have paid x million £ to get 7k more seats. Sure we would fill the ground perhaps 20-30% of the time but tickets would be cheaper. So essentially for the club they're making about the same amount of money but had to pay a few hundred million pound more for the build. We almost went down because of our finances. It just doesn't add up to go for 60k right now. Maybe in 5-10 years time if things on the pitch improve.

Slightly off topic but I can't see another more suitable. For Goodison I would simply give my concession {over65) ticket to somebody and they got in without a problem as the gate staff ignored the flashing light. Does anybody know if HD personnel are more diligent ? If I transfer my ticket to a non concessionary person in my group can they get in without a problem?
