It isn't a fact and he doesn't have 100 percent control over signings.
Moyes absolutely leads the recruitment team - that much was made clear in the summer by TFG’s favoured journalist Mark Douglas and the fact that the pick for scouting head was Moyes’ own man James Smith. The last window must have been particularly difficult as most of that recruitment team was not properly in place, but they are now and it will be interesting to see if Moyes is able to lead it more successfully over the next couple of windows, including this one. After all, by his own repeated admission, we failed to sign most of the players we went for last time round.

He stated a lack of European football was a factor.

If you’re Francisco Conceição - who we evidently agreed a fee for - that makes complete sense as a reason. He’d been on loan at Juventus and wanted to stay there. His choice is totally understandable, but our choice in wasting time pursuing him isn’t - it shows we targeted completely the wrong people and, by the time we realised it, many of the right ones had gone elsewhere.

Depends who the right ones were mate. We have to make significant progress each season, otherwise we just repeat the same summer’s activities.

I don’t trust them tho to be honest, some of the signings we have made lack impact or haven’t featured at all.

Yeah definitely felt like a mess. Was hoping we might spring into action this window to put things right, but I may be over optimistic!
