Its the most competitive league for a very long time.
As we see on a weekly basis any team can beat any other team , with many teams competing for Champions league and the other Euro comps.

The only people ive heard saying it is weak this season are that lot across the park.
It's second half of the season now, we've played every other team in the league. Have any teams other than the obvious top sides really impressed you in the games against us so far?

League is competitive, table is tight but I don't think that's because there are loads of really good sides in the league this season. I think the opposite really - lots of teams underperforming, lots of streaky teams.

Look at where Utd are in the table right now. How bad were they against us?

The squad itself has 24 players

GK: Pickford, Travers, King, Tyrer
LB: Mykolenko, Aznou
CB: Branthwaite, Keane
CB: Tarkowski, O'Brien
RB: Patterson, Coleman
LW: Grealish, McNeil
CM: KDH, Iroegbunam, Gana
CM: Garner, Armstrong
ACM: Alcaraz, Rohl
RW: Ndiaye, Dibling
CF: Barry, Beto

2 players at least for every position.

I wouldnt want any more than 2 players for every position and hope that we keep a squad of this size but remove players in January and summer windows and improve with quality and/or potential.
Armstrong isn’t at the club.
4 of those 24 are keepers.

It’s fairly standard practice to have 3 strikers in a squad for example, we are one long term injury away from being entirely reliant on one striker not picking up any knocks etc. We are also including players like Coleman who is literally unavailable most of the time.

Our squad depth is really poor. We have 3 injuries on that transfermarkt list and 2 at afcon. Yet even then, we aren’t naming a full bench, and are still including 2 players on that bench not included in that list.

Thats why i typed it out. Even without Armstrong (who can be recalled) we still have 2 players for every position.

Fair point on centre forward. Though otherwise, in terms of numbers, i dont think we need more.

We just need to improve on probably 7 of them.

You've changed from Its a weak league to League is competetive very quickly.

If you read my original post I agreed that this league is competitive, I'm just saying I don't think there's loads of outstanding teams that we should be looking at and counting ourselves out of Europe.

League is competitive this year because a lot of teams are roughly around our level, aren't managing to pull away from the pack and the table is therefore congested.

City, Arsenal etc are clearly superior sides - but are we really looking at Brentford, Brighton, Fulham, Sunderland and thinking they're that much better than us ? Think they're all very average myself.

I think the issues may be the teams who will of accounted for the African nations. The reality is we have lost 2 of our starting 11 and we are missing them already. We didn’t go out and sign anyone to step into their roles and now with injuries the whole squad is showing how thread bare it really is.

Not sure if right thread for this, but couldn't find a thread for Stake or sponsorships. Stake heavily implicated in a racketeering lawsuit in the US alongside two highly unsavoury characters (Drake and Adin Ross)

Absolutely stinks having connections to these scummy companies that we currently have sponsoring us, not just Stake but Kick as well. Fingers crossed come summer we have some new deals lined up that are preferable not just financially but in terms of optics also.

More detail below -

' Drake has been accused of participating in a racketeering conspiracy built around the online casino Stake. A class action lawsuit filed in Virginia this week argues that Stake is running an illegal gambling operation in the United States, in which Drake, who is paid to promote the platform, is complicit. It further alleges that he is funnelling proceeds—via Stake’s unregulated “tipping” system—to a third party, in Australia, to invest in bot farms that illegally boost Drake’s streaming numbers. Stake’s parent company, Sweepstakes Ltd., is named as a defendant alongside Drake, the streamer Adin Ross, and George Nguyen, the alleged Australian co-conspirator.

The basis of the lawsuit is that Stake operates in U.S. states, such as Virginia, that have outlawed real-money online gambling. Eyeing a possible (and highly contentious) legal loophole, Stake circumvents the online-gambling ban by selling “play money” that comes with free tokens. While the play money is worthless, the tokens can be wagered and later converted into cash for withdrawal. If a judge deems the practice to be illegal, Drake and Ross could be liable for promoting Stake.us, even if their own areas of residence permit online gambling. '
