I get the feeling the club are desperate to get approval for option number 1. Bringing players and manager out to endorse it.

Sort of goes against the spirit of even this limited exercise.

It'd be nice to have option #4, keep the current one; would be worthwhile to put them all in context. It's ok to overreact on a message board to something one player did well or poorly in one game, but changing the crest is a big deal and cooler heads make better decisions.
