Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!

I think you are confusing it with badgers

It was mentioned on the official site;

"Finally, the question of colour.

Royal Blue and White received the overwhelming preference from survey participants with six out of every 10 respondents preferring it to the other options.

This was also reflected in the focus group preferences and discussions. However, also reflected was a degree of sympathy towards the use of amber as an appropriate supporting colour, for example to help provide a border when a blue badge would be on a blue shirt or to support other design details on the Crest or other elements of the Club's wider branding.

So I think we probably will have the badge with an amber border on some of the kit and merchandise, next year

Well noted. Also, it's much easier to add yellamber when needed than take it off every time you think it clashes with product.

Sadly we'll be wearing this season's abomination when we collect the PL trophy but, what the heck, we'll just have to live with that...

I maintain that fans on here and other forums came up with far far better designs than those from an official source.

and I still think that the chosen crest is far too crammed and busy for my liking.

But now it's done, so time to put it to bed and concentrate on on field matters.

A point will do on Saturday to maintain our unbeaten run going in to the international break.

This. someday new ownership will come in and wipe this rubbish away and actually go about a redesign process befitting of a world-class organization.

TBF, that's not a high bar to get over.

All the hullabaloo over this though. It could have been sorted last summer in a week by asking fans rather than Nike and Kitbag.

Instead we had a media PR disaster, present stock left unsold because it's a turkey and getting laughed at, and the expense of a new consultation exercise run by outsiders.

It's been a textbook case of how not to do something...other clubs communications and commercial departments will be citing this example for years to come as a cautionary tale.

So my shirt will be a collectors item then (y)
