Actually much prefer the newest badge to the previous one. The gradient and outlining look half-arsed and awful in hindsight.

Yellow outline though.

The yellow trim to that badge gives it definition. If they had any sense (which they dont) they'll start using that. We've used a combo of blue, white and yellow in the clubs livery for decades and it works.

Having seen the one on the right on some of the present gear, it looks indistinguishable...and I thought the whole point was for it to stand out?

The yellow edging makes that anonymous badge stand out. Surely everyone sees that?

Very happy that option 1 has won.

While it looks average on a computer but looks absolutely brilliant sewn on

I also like that the amber is gone, I prefer just the blue and white.

I'm now looking forward to buying new merch next season. Also I hope Nike sew the badges on the merch (jerseys, training, polo etc.) like they did on the above pics rather than the way they currently do for the jerseys.

That would be a waste of money when everyone knew it would be the first option.

Actually pretty cheap to do, but your point stands because actually spending money on this initiative was clearly not part of the plan.

It was mentioned on the official site;

"Finally, the question of colour.

Royal Blue and White received the overwhelming preference from survey participants with six out of every 10 respondents preferring it to the other options.

This was also reflected in the focus group preferences and discussions. However, also reflected was a degree of sympathy towards the use of amber as an appropriate supporting colour, for example to help provide a border when a blue badge would be on a blue shirt or to support other design details on the Crest or other elements of the Club's wider branding.

So I think we probably will have the badge with an amber border on some of the kit and merchandise, next year

That's good news then. Well spotted! It's really yellow rather than amber though...but if that's what they want to call it to get it past fans that's fine with me.
