..i’m old but I don’t remember Labone or Radcliffe being particularly vocal or in the referees face. The timing is probably right to appoint a new skipper but Jagielka has been a fine professional and from what I hear has the total respect of teammates and is highly thought of throughout the game.
No players really did that then, it's a very different thing now.

Always rated him as a player.

Never rated him as a captain.

Simply fails to inspire. That time he avoided getting involved by tying his laces on the halfway line epitomises him - he's the type of captain you have if you have absolutely no ambition and just want to settle for average and being professional.

..don’t think it is. Folk think a skipper needs to have his sleeves rolled up, go around giving teammates a rollicking when that simply isn’t the case. The best don’t do that. The best don’t need to do that. Lots of examples in the World Cup with the likes of Vincent Company, Harry Kane, the French and Croatian skippers.

Jags has been a good captain.

When he leaves or if he's not on the pitch, I definitely agree with Coleman being captain.

We've had enough upheaval without sacking a captain weeks before the season starts.

Jagielka has been a good player and an exceptional servant of our football club. He has always treated our club and fans with respect and deserves to be called an Evertonian.
I find it disappointing when he is unnecessarily insulted and disrespected on what is an Everton forum by a fellow Evertonian.
Sad.

He was good. He's not anymore

Is he a spineless coward though? Yes he is. That miralass pen incident where he bent down to tie his lace instead of give the ball to Baines, he should have been stripped that night.

I actually like jags but there is no room for sentiment in football

Still no need to abuse a very loyal servant to the club.

Makes you sound like a kopite to be honest, oh look you have Everton in your name.

I used to think that Coleman should be our captain. Now I think we should give new contract and armband to Pickford.
