Netherlands piloting women to play men's football

Your comment about female officials is just as stupid as his "average female CB against Andy Carroll".
Read it again buddy. I've not said anything negative about female officials. I think you've misunderstood my point.

No I've understood the point. None of the officials could really play in the league. None of them had the athleticism let alone the skill. So yes, it's a dumb point. It's totally irrelevant.

Their is no reason why a woman couldn't officiate a game. However, their is inherently a difference in builds where a woman would most likely never thrive in the men's league.

That however doesn't apply to officiating.

Thanks for making it absolutely clear that you didnt understand the point I was making.
Stupid is as stupid does

If they’re good enough, they’re good enough. However, it’s far fetched to think many will be able to compete at even remotely high levels in the men’s games.

I’m sure they regret it 1000% but the US women’s national team scrimmaged the U15 FC Dallas boys a few years back and Dallas won like 5-2. It’s only a scrimmage but we’re talking about the best women’s side in the world getting destroyed by a bunch of kids.

What's @BlueInNZ think? Must have been a misogynist scoreboard

Then please clarify it? Because I don't see how making the argument that no one would ever task a female CB to do that as an inverse in stupidity to you must not like female officials.

Still a long, long way off for me personally.

I think with the recent push of funding allowing greater exposure is huge for women’s football. It’s almost like grassroots.

more money, means better everything (if managed correctly), and it can only grow. But at present, the standard is poor, maybe exposure in the men’s game will help.

IMO the whole club system is holding womens football back. Its fun to watch when the best players i.e. the few hundred who can make it their only full time job but they spend a lot of their time hoofing it against for the most part amatuers. This more than coaching isn't going to make them better. There aren't just enough pros in any country to fill a league, even the US. If there is one sport that needs a Euro super league its womens football. People would watch especially if you put it on say thurs nights and played at grounds that held only 20K.

As far as playing a men's team, sure its harmless I guess.

I would assume the misogyny viewpoint comes from the massive overreaction of some people (not you).

I mean it's a discussion worth having, right? Nothing will ever come from it anyway but just the discussion is a start.

I find people flipping saying stuff like it's "ridiculous", "PC gone mad" and slating the women's game are probably those with some form of agenda.

If we were playing bingo here I'd have a full house. :) I don't think I've got an agenda though, I just don't marry up how you can have women playing in a men's contact sport. People will say it's non-contact but that isn't true and with that I can't see how you keep the sport as it is, I want more blood and guts on the pitch (metaphorically speaking), not moving further from a contact sport.

If you are a big grock centre half and you have a challenge to make where you usually take man and ball cleanly, but you have to rethink that because it's an 8 stone something woman marauding down the wing then the game has gone right there. Plenty of other sports where you can play against men but invariably they will come off second best, so what we are saying here is we are going to change the rules just on the off chance a Caster Semenya type appears with the skill of Messi?

I once played in a game where a six foot something 15 stone-ish bloke broke a (much) smaller kids ankle and leg to bits with a block challenge and I just don't want to see those match ups. Charity games sure but when you have to change how you play in a competitive match because of who you are opposite is a massive no to me.

Here is one of those boys getting his picture taken with one of the USA players Now imagine a Duncan Ferguson type flinging himself at a corner with her standing in the way....

In terms of different physicality, I'd love to see Rapino, that virtue signalling arrogant US women's player, who uses the world Cup to blather her own political agenda and then demands pay parity get clattered by a 4th div centre back. Would pipe her right down.
Thing is, Bernard is one of the smallest players in the world, and even he would outclass most women physically. The muscle mass of a man at 5’6 isn’t the same as a women at 5’6. For women upper body strength is about 2/3 of a man of comparable size which is staggering. I mean, I know it’s anecdotal, but my girlfriend is 5’6 and she can’t even complete a single press up despite pretty regularly exercising, and I’ve met loads of others who can’t either, whereas I’ve never met a guy who can’t. Even during school with the scrawny kids having to do the fitness tests they could manage a few.

Bone density as well is far less, so there’d be a massive danger of seriously injuring female opposition players.

He’s also actually pretty rapid, doesn’t show it enough because it’s his acceleration that’s good, but his acceleration is really quick. Same with Lennon who was an inch shorter. He’d be far quicker than any female player.

All of these things put together means that you’re putting the women at risk. Higher speed, from stronger, heavier people against those with weaker bones is a recipient for disaster. There’s another reason there’s separation that people are neglecting, and that’s safety. I’d be really concerned that a really serious injury would be inevitable, and I don’t particularly want to see that.

Fokkema hell, what century are some of you from...

Steady on - so far this century is proving to be far worse and less pleasant to live through than the last. And the last had two world wars and the atom bomb!

Think that's a matter of lived experience and perspective...

Don't have any sympathy for those who are demanding equal pay in the women's football at the moment. However, if any female believe they can make it in what is called men's football currently, good luck to them and actually think it's inevitable move.

Which is more or less what I said in an earlier post which you didnt read or chose to ignore before cutting and pasting my quotation out of context to make your own point.
