2023/24 Neal Maupay

In the past, we have used the excuse for our forwards that the team doesn't create chances, but today there was no excuse. Four chances Neal Maupay had against Fulham and each one was pretty much hit at their keeper. The only real positive about the player is that at least he's getting into goal-scoring positions.

Where is the defence?

His finishing was pitiful, literally my first comment.
Your first post was "he didn't play bad" or something along those lines. He was awful because he missed everu chance he had.
You do not lose if you do not concede - it’s quite simple. Personally, Maupay didn’t played too badly, with some good movement and touches.

But, he needed to score today with the chances he had, which meant we couldn’t win and helped facilitate the situation where we lost.

At least two of the chances he had should have been goals.
Nonsense this. The defence was generally alright and limited Fulham to two chances. We created enough chances to win ghat game 3/4 times over, but we didn't because the striker is horrific

They fell asleep for the goal, with the scorer left somehow to tap it in at the back net. Admittedly, they were okay apart from that, but still!

I’m disappointed that Maupay didn’t convert at least one of the chances and his confidence is clearly very low, however all the blame on him is unfair.

Danjuma’s miss is the most unforgivable.

I don't just blame maupay, I blame dyche for playing him and Keane, and his use of subs where abysmal

I think he was off side though

Danjuma was a mile offside but looked like a footballer. Maupey looked like my brother playing up front.
