Why not create a thread discussing the problems with NATO and western foreign policy rather than gum up this one.

I am no fan of NATO by a long stretch. But right now the problem is Russia has invaded Ukraine.

In a way yes. He took advantage of the situation. There is a lesson about stronger and/or victorious sides not sewing the seeds of further unrest. Obviously Russia should be applying that now, but hopefully we will be paying heed when Russia is defeated.
