2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Having been at the game last night, I can say that he did nothing wrong at all.

Granted he was only on for about 20/25 mins, but how anyone came up with a 4/10 is ludicrous.

He stopped a certain goal with an interception on the left of the box, where he correctly anticipated that the left back was caught out of position and sprinted across to cover for him. He then remained at left back, until the danger had passed and team regained its shape.

Your vile bigotry, has you grasping for ever desperate straws to slate him with.

You're ridiculous.

Why are you so bothered about his Scotland prospects?

Only to the extent that we can get shut of him.

One school of thought is that it could put him in the shop window if he gets a WC game or two. Another is that it'll complicate selling him as he'd be away on international duty.

We need a new RB in the summer, so the sooner we can get shut of him and know what we have to buy elsewhere in the squad the better.

And you need help.

He's living rent free at Everton's expense.

What did you think of his performances in the two friendlies? They were hopeless weren't they?

The Scotsman ranked him 4/10 last night; Willie Miller said his passing under pressure was woeful against Japan.

He'll be the luckiest player alive to make the final 25 for the WC. There'd have to be 2/3 injuries to others who've played at RB.
Overall he played well in both of the games, couple of loose passes against Japan but defensively solid, linked up well as was always available for a pass to get the team forward, coming on for last 30 mins against IC he was lively, linked up well again going forward and did well in anticipating a breakaway by IC and got over to snub out a potential goal opportunity, didn't do his chances of being in the final squad any harm...
I've no doubts that he will be in the squad going to the World Cup in a couple of months.

He just needs games to build his match fitness and confidence, that's the truth of it dave!

I doubt that very much. How many RBs/RWBs are Scotland going to take? 2 - 3 at most. That's McCrorie, Hickey, Ralston and Tierney - who's played there before - looking to secure 3 places at most.

Clarke will take the men who got Scotland to the WC.

Tierney plays on the left, so does Hickey but can also play on right and will be first choice(if fit)
there at the moment, Ralston is rank but Clarke seems to like him!
Will probably be between Ralston
and McCrorie as to who misses out, Ralston will probably get it purely down to experience.

I dont see from that how you work out Patterson goes. What you said doesn't make his case for him or justify it.

Hickey has been at RB and is the starter, and Ralston deputises for him (who you rightly say has Clarke's faith) and McCrorie is a player who gets a start ahead of Patterson and who'd be favoured if they go with a wing back system.

I mean, you can state Patterson will go but you have to rationalise it!

Patto once got a 1/10 for being on the pitch for 1 minute and not kicking a ball, "one of the worst cameos ever" and all that, so 4/10 is a 10/10 in the normal world.

End of the day Clarke knows that a confident Patterson can play the wing back roll as he's already done it for him previously, I get that the confidence and match fitness thing will be in Clarke's mind regarding Patterson but if Hickey gets injured, NP is the natural replacement?

...that was about three years ago!!

Still stands!

A manager who has previously seen what he can bring to the team, showing faith and belief in him, is the confidence boost that NP needs to be able to prove that he can be relied upon for club and country given the opportunity!!

Biggest issue with him over the last couple of years is that his confidence has been shot to pieces through one thing or another, he just needs a manager to show faith in him and encourage him to be the player he can be.

David Gray could just be the man for that..

Would allow dave as a 'Hibs fan' to continue to 'babble-on' at his pet hate obsession i suppose! 😏
He will do it wherever he ends up, but as they say, Karma is a B....

I do find it very strange that he claims to be a Hibs fan though, seeing Dave at the Edinburgh fringe festival would certainly be a sight..
