2024/25 Nathan Patterson

I would rather be a bit more dodgy at the back if he provided us with more attacking threat.

Last nights shape is the way to go, allows the full backs more license to support with the extra cb as cover, and gets ndiaye in more dangerous positions centrally away from the flank, where we need him.

Regardless of opposition, even Myko looked more comfortable last night.

It’s gonna take a while to get the awful stench of Dyches negativity off the squad, they’ve all been playing with a monkey on their backs and the handbrake on, sacred of the ball and of loosing the game.

And it will improve further having Pickford back in and Tarkowski in for Keane. And it will become more assured.

I just wish we had a more sitting DM to provide additional cover as Gueye was getting very high and gave it away a couple of times around the edge of their box and was then racing to get back.

Spot on mate, O’Brien, Tarks and branthwaite sounds decent to me, Keane did ok but I don’t trust him fully.

Garner and Tim getting back would make a big difference to the options in the middle as well.

We’ve been needing a formation change for months, but because this would keep his per doucure out of the side, the miracle worker wouldn’t entertain it.

We were also better last night simply because doucure wasn’t on the pitch, we went worse as soon as he came on.

The more he plays, the less he will try too hard to prove to everyone and himself he’s capable. Might stay fitter for longer too.

Like a bit of snide, but trying to kill everyone that goes near him is a bit silly. Needs to pick his moments to take ball then man to set his stall out against an opponent. At the moment it’s a bit obvious. And again, he’ll crock himself at some point.

He didn’t actually get dribbled past once all game. They may have found pockets of space in behind him which is expected when playing wing backs but no one actually took him on individually.
They didn't need to dribble past him, just knock it forward and beat him for pace. It is likely to be more of an issue in the league.

I don't have a down on the lad, I just don't think he is strong or fast enough to be an effective premier league full back.

I don’t get why people are shocked that wingers are able to outpace him. Wingers are generally the fastest players for most teams (not our wingers mind).

Only thing I worry about is being to open in the centre of the park. Everyone pressed and left room in behind the midfield. Vs a better team we may struggle
