I took my 9 year old to first home game yesterday as i live in Kent. We sat upper gwladys and when the 3rd goal went in the tears were streaming down his face and i looked at him and was transported back in time to me at his age. As i was consoling him a fellow blue behind me put his arm around him and said "don't cry lad, welcome to the world of an evertonian " and i saw my boy look at him and it was like he understood. He got it. I said to myself this is what we do , we take the **** with the good nomatter what. My son came away from that game with a better understanding of everton then if we had won. We are everton and i will stand with my son for years to come watching us , good or bad. So you take your son to Chelsea if its closer and you watch a classless club because we are Everton and we are by far the greatest team the world as ever seen!!!

Just. This.

We are Everton FFS.

after yesterday had me thinkin is it worth bringing my son up a blue he is 3 today i live down south i cant c how we can ever get to enjoy watching everton as father and son winnining something its the same every season bottle big games only good when no pressure on us thats why we finish strong cos we normally have nothing to play for but this season when we did start well and people talk us up we fold
Evertonians are born not manufactured. Some may say just born unlucky.

Here we go, here we go, here we go,
side by side as we sing this song together.

We're Everton and we'll be Everton forever.

Chin up!

I'm 24 so I was 6 years old the last time we won anything. As much as I mock my dad for brainwashing me from birth (we also live down south so have no geographical ties to Everton) I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

As a kid he used to tell me it's all character building being a blue and although I gave him some stick yesterday telling him I've got enough ****ing character now I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm sure it's great watching a team win everything on tv but I'm an Evertonian, I'm part of something more than just watching, I feel it. For that, I can't thank him enough.

I'm 16, Never seen us win anything, Probably won't for years, But, We're Everton and we do us. We take losses on the chin and accept them. The lows will make the highs so much better for me. I can't wait. Through thick and thin.

My Dad took me to my first game when I was 4 in 1984, so fortunately I have seen some good times. However my Dad said something to me at the time and you need to tell your lad. "It's hard being an Evertonian, but by Christ son when it's good we are very very good" add that to the Evertonians are born not manufactured.
The proudest day of mine was taking my Dad and my two daughters to Goodison, three generations of us. It was extra special as my Grandad died when I was young so never got to go the match with him. Forget the others bring your kid up bitter and proud!

My 3 year old goes to kids football. He's 3 and a quarter, you're not supposed to be in his class until your 3 and a half up to 5.

He's the next Messi by the way, the older kids can't get the ball off him.

Anyway, there was 8 kids there yesterday (in Peterborough). 1 Posh fan, 1 Hammer, 1 Evertonian and 5 kids in replica liverpool kits.

Mine was the boy in Royal Blue.

Stand out from the crowd, you know the Liverpool fans here have never been to anfield.

My daughter was kicking in the womb at goodison when Andy Johnson scored against Watford, she was born to the sounds of 5 live in the delivery suite as we played Man City.

My Boy wasn't born on a match day but he understands that the Red Team are the baddies. He cheers on whoever plays in Blue because the brainwashing has taken hold.

I'm so gutted about yesterday, I want Moyes Gone at the moment but whether that feeling will fade or not, I dont know.

What I do know is that Everton winning something again will be incredible, and to be able to see the look on my kids faces will make me very happy indeed.

don't think i've read a much more beautiful post on this forum if i'm honest, got me closer to tears than watching that game yesterday that's for sure

bring him up a blue, and no matter what age he/you are no matter were life takes him in years to come when the team runs out win or lose you will be sharing something together. if you dont there is a good chance he will grow up a bit of a wrong-un its not worth the risk
