Thats a Barkley or Besic injury from costing us.
Ledson,tarashaj and dowell cant be relied upon.
Barry could do a distin. Cleverley could/would be on the left and looks hopeless in the same centre as barkley + cant play DM.
Thst leaves 3 central players for 3 positions
I'm not saying we shouldn't get one Zat.
My point is other areas need addressing first.
You're assuming that Barry does a Distin but there's no sign of that and it's less likely if he is rotated with Besic/McCarthy. Clevs can play there it just depends who's next to him. He can't do it with Barry because he gets forward too much and Barry doesn't have the pace to cover, but next to McCarthy who has that positional sense and pace it would work in certain situations.
Unless we get Europe it's going to be very difficult to have 5 players all capable of playing the same two positions in the squad.
My priority would be to go get a playmaker/winger (predominately for the wide left position), goalkeeper and back up right back - possibly one who can also fill in capably at centre half.
After those are brought in then concentrate on a cm.
My point is is Besic can be that player we need in there and saves us from having to spend loads on one.
