This guy simply must start on Saturday night.
I've not been overly impressed with McCarthy as of late. I'd play Besic alongside Barry or part of a 3 along with Barkley. Besic has so much more to his game and as a defensive player, manages to excite us fans and helps the transition of playing forward.
Lennon and Deloufeu either flank would be ideal along with Mo as CM. They make the direct runs that Mo can seem to pick out 2/3 times a game..
At home in games where teams sit back against us, definitely!
I was agreeing with you mate haha! Not every team did... and osome play narrow
I think that they should both start together in our home games, and then I'd still go with McCarthy and Barry in aways. Besic and McCarthy will be first choice heading into next season I believe.
@Zatara and a few other posters have pointed out that they think we need to spend on a new CM for next term. Besic is my answer to that.
Good enough on the ball to be a deep-lying playmaker. Fit, quick and strong enough to be a box-to-box player and strong enough in the tackle to defend. With McCarthy next to him and Barkley ahead of him it could be a real core of a team going forward.
How can Besic be the answer to signing another centre mid? Then were still short on players.
McCarthy / Besic / Barkley
Only Barry old) / Tarashaj (unproven) /;Cleverley (better on the left) in reserve so clearly need another centre mid.
Besic will surely replace Barry next season. I have a feeling Bobby will play Barry , Besic & McCarthey on Sat.
All 3 of them? At once? Where's Barkley going to fit in?
No mate. Barry stays and is still capable of starting if needed. Cleverley is better on the left but is an option for central midfield depending how we set up (e.g. in a three-man midfield think he'd be fine).
That's five options there Zat, plus Ledson and Dowell who may be ready to take the step up. Tarashaj I believe is more of a second-striker.
Unless one of the above leaves we're good for options there while the priority targets are addressed.
In front of them , a sort of 4-3-3. to try to match Chelkis midfield. Only a hunch
So you'd have Barkley as a winger or summat? Can't see him doing too well there tbh, last time he played as a winger (Which, incidentally, was against Chelsea at home) he was completely anonymous aside from the assist for Naisy.
Only way we could do well with all 3 of our DMs at once was if Besic slotted into CB (Which he does for Bosnia). And I'm unsure if that's ideal considering the way he flies into tackles with reckless abandon. Could have Barry but he makes far too much errors for that position. McCarthy will never play CB in his life.
