To be fair every player will have a bad game here or there, but overall we don't have another player that is so effective in terms of recovering possession in that part of the pitch on a regular basis. This quality is pivotal to the overall balance when it comes to defending and also the key to effective counter attack is to win the ball higher up the pitch. Works both ways in my opinion.
His quality is immense to the way we play.
We don't know that yet. He could easily turn out to be another Dan Gosling.
I've seen Besic have more poor games for us than good ones at this point, so I don't understand the hype. He's played well in one and a bit games and did a spin on the ball once or twice a year ago; that's basically the positives of his Everton career up to now. Other than that, he's looked positionally awkward in the past, slowed the tempo down constantly and was rash with his challenges and decision making.
Where you say "every player will have a bad game here or there", I say the opposite is true too - every player can have a good game here or there.
It's the same as Lukaku with me - once he shows what he can do consistently, I'll praise him for it. But I'm not going to change my view after one good game and suddenly ignore ten bad ones - the last time I saw him, he looked like he needed a loan to a Championship club.
