Did you even read what you typed?

Yes... and I'm confused. I said once Lukaku started to do it consistently, I praised him for it. And I have:

He's been outstanding lately; long may it continue. Goals aside he's been using his physicality better in the build up.

I did, just less frequently and combined with a better all round game, which is what I've wanted to see.

He's had a sensational three months. Let's see it continue.

Yep pretty much it in a nutshell.

This is the level I expect him to be at, where he's influencing the game more and more often instead of just popping in a goal and disappearing. His goalscoring record isn't important in many ways when looking at how Rom's game is coming along overall.

Performing so well now just highlights how poor he was for long periods of last season.

Superb today.

I do indeed! Best striker we've had in a decade obviously, and increasingly you can make the argument that he's the best in almost 30 years.

But we sometimes undervalue Everton. No player at the club right now is too good to play for us.

Bloody monster.

What am I missing here?

That anyone who wasn't a plum could see how good Lukaku was before this season despite not being the finished article.

For shame.

He wasn't showing it. Everyone can have potential, not everyone realises it - that's why you have the Ravel Morrison's of this world.

I'm not one for jumping on a Kopite-esque hype train before I see proof in front of my eyes. A player is good when he is showing he is good, not a moment before.

Besic needs to do what he has done lately week in, week out. That's the same for every player, including Lukaku. Why is that unreasonable?

Must have imagined all those goals then.

I'd prefer Lukaku to be doing what he's done lately and be a benefit to the overall side and score half the goals, than do nothing of note for 90 minutes but pop his toe on the end of one chance.

That's my personal preference in a striker. Right now, Lukaku is brilliant in my eyes not because of the goals, but because of how effective he is for the team from start to finish.

Last season, there was none of that.

But this is a Besic thread - the same thing applies. He's been absolutely top drawer for the last one and a bit games, but I want to see that consistently, that's all. Apparently, that observation is offensive to you for some reason.

The Lukaku thing is pretty ridiculous. One of the best young striker in Europe but wasn't at a high enough level, apparently
