Besic and McCarthy with Barkley just in front could be the best midfield I've ever seen at Everton. I just hope when everyone's fit Roberto tries them all on the pitch in that formation. I just cant see him dropping Barry though. I'd save Barry for when Besic gets booked or as a 3rd chioce CB behind Jags and Stones.

Besic has got to man mark David Silva. He'll do a great job -- until he, inevitably with today's refs, gets booked. That will then see the way open for City to get a couple of late goals.

Barry plays a very specific role. If Besic is dropped, it's because Besic hasn't learnt the ins and outs of it yet. The system is more important than the players after a certain point. It's frustrating but I have no doubt Besic will take up the role as soon as he's seen as being ready - RM absolutely loves him as a player.

Besic looks a fine player. A good signing by RM.

One suggestion; Besic should wear long sleeves. I have the impression that his tattoed arms make him look a bit of a baby faced thug. Especially when he just made a strong tackle.

Besic and McCarthy wouldn't work together, both are enforcers, you need someone to partner one of them who has a bit of creativity in them. Barkley and Besic did a good job of that against QPR.
