Absolutely no reason it shouldn't be him and McCarthy once James is fit. But you know Barry will continue to get 90 every match. I don't know why.

Rom made the great impact at the end, but Besic was our best player today over the full 90 minutes.

A potential top player, but still a blunt instrument and his heart is in the right place.
After a bit of refinement, there'd be no arguments in him replacing Barry full time (poor as he's been)

Great when given a job to do (man marking for instance) but needs to learn his role when he's not doing that, needs to be a bit less emotional with a bit more discipline so he's not getting dragged out of position as much.

Didn't think it was one of his better games today but he'll come along.

Best game for me from him this season. Disciplined, effective maybe not that spectecular as against QPR in terms of big tackles but just as useful. Most touches and 2nd most passes in the squad with the second best pass ratio (90%) after Oviedo. And made 9 tackles in 84 mins, that's a lot (West Ham made 10 tackles during the whole match). As I've seen him and Barry now worked a little better, maybe it's because they had more freedom and space. At whoscored he got the highest ranking at Everton (8.4) but I think Lukaku, Oviedo and Robles was very good too. Maybe Robles just needed some play time: he looked a little lost at the beginning but after he was solid and made important saves.

Showed so much pace to catch a man last night though he was on a miniature horse. Also put a quality sliding cruncher in which was as fair as the tax man is harsh. Cool!
But, some of the passing was in a word nuts. The glaring one that stciks out was the dancing about over an almost stationary ball, the west ham player just stood off waiting, nothing happened so passed it 6 yards to Barkley who then danced over a fully stopped ball, Bes moved 8 yards just off Barkley, the west ham player closed down and we gifted possession away because there were no options on. Barkley wasn't the ball on, and if these two internationals cant figure out how to isolate a token midfield press (from a single player) then we have issues. But a better night all in for Bes, more first team games will see him come on leaps and bounds.
