Honestly believe in terms of the CMs position we will improve massively when him and Barry are not partnered together due to injuries. Besic will flourish next to someone like mccarthy who is a more advanced minded midfielder in terms of pressing and tackling. You could see on occasions tonight he is tentative to press high as he clearly values sitting in and protecting the defenders more (which with the way we have been playing is badly needed) and it also showed with the game against QPR that he performs better with someone who doesnt also sit right next to him.

Putting aside my hatred for Barry this season anyway the natural progression is to get Besic in alongside McCarthy, he can pick a pass his composure on the ball is light years ahead of Barry whos composure and awareness within the space of a year have become like an old man trying to cross the road and hes also that player this system needs that is prepared to rough the opponent up a bit.

Cant completely knock Barry though wasnt for him at the end of the game wiping out noble we wouldnt have eventually scored i just think its time Besic was introduced in to that position more often but right now its doubtful with RMs undeserved love towards Barry.

The protection our MF gives to our back line is so thin that for me we should have all 3 of Barry, Besic and McCarthy playing on Saturday s.t. fitness.

Still think he's more of a liability on the pitch than Barry - position ally he's very often all over the place and he's a yellow card waiting to happen. Poor mans Gravesen for me.

Absolutely bossed the pitch at times tonight. A couple of slip-ups but he's young and a complete psycho so you've got to forgive him that. Loved watching him play, was good to see him have his confidence up to use those clever feet of his too.

Great potential for Besic. He takes good angles and has impressive recovery speed. I've most noticed that he's been absolutely spot on for every long, diagonal ball I've seen him put in. That said, he gets too cute in possession and tries to take on too much before finding a teammate. After getting inevitably swarmed and losing the ball in a bad position, he'll fight back into the play and lunge in for a great or horrible challenge to win the ball back. I've seen that play out time and time again.

At times good, at times frustrating with his 'no you have it' one yard passes. But could also level that at a few other players tonight. Hopefully he'll develop same way Coleman did - remember thinking he'd be a complete liability at RB as he was often so rash. Agree him and Barry doesn't work to same degree as Barry/McCarthy did but every player has been so poor this season comparing systems/partnerships is like comparing apples and oranges.

Thought he had his best game for us tonight, came looking for the ball and trying to dictate play.

He's still got a tendency to wonder around to much but considering it's his first season in midfield he looks a promising lad.

Forgot which WHU player it was, but I was waiting for him to deck him. Besic doesnt look like the type of player you wanna frustrate.

Creswell. Was clearly being the instigator - mouthing off and reaching over to tap Besic in the face - but the ref was holding Besic back, probably because he could see in his eyes that Creswell would not be long for this world otherwise.
