I've always rated him however wasn't sure if he could keep his head in the derby. And in the first minute he over stretched for a few sliding tackles that luckily didn't connect and I feared the worst. However he got over that and barely put a foot wrong with the pass to Lukaku the highlight.

I think the midfield 3 worked and when Ross gets back I think it will make us a solid team, hard to beat who also carry a threat.

Could see him starting more than not this season especially until Mirallas gets back.

Did decent for his first derby, not an easy game to be thrust into by any means.

He could turn out to be a modern day bargain of Arteta proportions. £4m is naff all these days, it's like a quarter of a Markovic.

He didn't spit at Balotelli. He gave stick to Balotelli for his fake 'hand in the face' fall. He then walked some 10 yards away from him then spat into the ground. Doubtless it was a gesture showing what he thought of the playacting -- but he wasn't spitting at him. You'd expect this sort of clutching at straws on RAWK. Can't understand why any Evertonian would put a comment on this site suggesting anything different
