Perfect summary there mate. Was bright if a little over eager to impress and then faded as the game wore on and that was inevitable given it was his first 90 minutes. Thought he done o.k

Fair enough but he was just trying to impress and it backfired on him. I don't think 5 minutes of a crazy game where we're 5-3 down is ample time to judge him. As other people have said, he's very raw (that's starting not to sound like a word anymore), he's young and he needs time to adapt to the Premier League. I'm confident he'll turn out to be a very shrewd signing for us.

The lad looks like a neat player with the ball(granted the odd misplaced pass). He looks like a nice little nasty player without the ball. I like him. He might fade out after couple seasons or become a little roy keane. ps I also like the way mc carty is getting really stuck in lately. he used to cover the whole pitch running, now he is tackling the whole pitch

I thought he improved as the game went on.

1st half he was trying too hard on the ball. Awful shooting and stupid show boating moves. He was having a stinker for the first 30 mins.

2nd half was a much more mature disciplined performance with good passing including some long range passing that I don't think I've ever seen McCarthy even attempt and good defensive work especially when covering for the liability that was Hibbert.

Frankly by the end of the game he certainly made a case for replacing Barry or McCarthy although not for the next two games.

From what I ve seen from him against Chelsea and yesterday I don't rate him at all!
Yesterday again he stupidly lost the ball just behind the area and we nearly conceded a goal like it was against Chelsea. He is far from Premiership standards.

I could give you lots of example of players who start poorly and go on to be good players, but you already know this, if you´d take a moment to think before slating players.
