besic getting the blame for the porto goal ! realy ?? so never mind barry mccarthy and hibbert in the build up , and john stones in the last line of defence being outclassed and sent the wrong way very easily ?
imo barry was more at fault than anyone. he was ball watching , not quick enough , failed to put a tackle in , let players run into space behind him and failed to cut out the pass.

Is right. Every goal conceded will be the mistake of someone even if its a 40 yard screamer so people should save there energy rather than finding someone to blame. Just remember that every goal we have scored is also because of a mistake from the opposition and that's football for you. Its so easy to watch replays of goals then point the finger at someone.....as they say hind sight is a great thing. I will only criticise conceded goals if they are unwarranted glaring mistakes like the Distin semi final goal

No body said solely to blame. Just that he was at fault. And that can't really be argued I don't think. He did make a rash discission and it was a contributing factor to us conceding but yeno what it was a preseason testimonial (ie the time to make mistakes). It was also a goal that was coming as we'd been up against it for all that half. [Poor language removed] happens but people where making out like that he has a faultless 45 minutes which wasn't the case.

Oh come on Messi looked like he'd been on the piss for most of this World Cup, no ones saying he won't be good but for the reported £2.5m do you not think it curious there wasn't more bellicose competition for his services?

Haha Messi won the golden ball, mate. And sure, he did still underperform, but having such average teammates he ended marked by 3 players in most matches. It was actually only the Bosnia game where only 1 player was trusted to mark him, and if it hadn't been for that moronic CB mume would have had him all night.

4 similar quality CMs.
This is great, it means the two positions that make players truly knackered after a long season, due to distance ran in each game, are covered for both injury and fatigue with same quality replacements.

I think people are forgetting just how good Barry was last season. He will play every game he is fit for
Barry's fantastic but your comment is not true. The reason we have brought in Besic is purely because Barry and McCarthy wont play every game they are fit for. Barry sort of burnt out near the end of last season purely because he couldn't get any rest. But now he can.

It's all about horses for courses mate it's a squad game not a one player game.

Every player makes a mistake or wrong decision in football and that is why football is what it is. People should take a leaf out of RMs book and look at the positives then encourage more positives rather than the Moyes way of looking at the negatives and turning players into safe but unspiring sideway and backward passers.
