is there possibility Martinez could play 4-3-3 with Bešić, Barry and McCarthy, with Barkley at the wing? anyway, if not this season, next season Mume will be first team regular, no doubt, and I reckon Barry will be out

You've decided this from one game?

I remember Ibrahima Bakayoko having a good game once...

We're the worst for building someone up and then being the first to rip their necks out if they don't fill the quota we have made for them.

He is a young footballer, only 21 let him have time to make his mistakes and also do his good things. Chill out bigging him up and don't add the uneeded pressure to him.

when we (Bosnians) came here and start talking about Bešić, everything proved to be true! Mume himself said that he has respect for his teammates and their qualities, but that he came here to play, so that should mean something, doesnt it? he is hard working player and Martinez defo likes him, and on trainings he'll give Martinez something he can not refuse!

remember this, in four year time, he'll be wanted by the top european clubs!

I thought the same. Let Barry sit and have McCarthy and Besic as genuine box to box players. Having the 3 would let Baines and Coleman bomb on, allowing Barkley to wander in from the left and Mirallas from the right

he still has to improved tactically, to know when to and when not to make tackles, but thats up to Martinez and older teammates! they need to tell him how things funkcionate in PL .. also he can improve technically, his shots are really bad, even hes defensive midfielder, and long balls, which they are actually good so far .. as for the positives, hes fast, can run a lot, has tackling, good short passes, calm on the ball, loves to run with a ball, very combative player, and hes dirty

so yeah, he has all predispositions to become world class defensive midfielder! hes young with a lot of space for improvement

I just want to watch him play constantly, really excited based on what i saw yesterday. I didnt see him at the world cup, but if thats a baseline performence and with a few edges knocked of hes a superb player - not only that hes a proper player.

The Bosnian Beast.

.....I'm thinking that to play Besic, Barry and McCarthy would be negative and leave us lacking a little creativity. We need to know a little more about Besic, but he's certainly announced himself as a potential starter - I thought that would be the case. In yesterdays game all 3 of them rarely crossed the half way line, maybe because we were chasing the game a little but my preference is for 2 from 3 rather than make room for all.

I think that was just down to how good Porto where. They played through us in the first half when Osman and Barkley where in the middle and Martinez probably didn't want to see us take any more so he played the 3 most defensive minded players he had in the middle.

I'm sure he meant to bring on Besic but I wonder if he planned that particular change beforehand because if not tactically it was brilliant.

On but btw - That's what I would play in a midfield diamond with Ross at the top and Mirallas and Lukaku the front two or even better sell Mirallas and buy Bony.

Our midfield core will be so strong this season, we are one or two offensive players away from really challenging for major honours IMO

Bringing barry back, besic in with gibbi coming back is the perfect storm, an area we were strong in last season for the main part, but seriously lacked options. Now we are twice as strong in that area, buzzin here

Great isn't it. If anything Gibson and Besic look to have a better passing range than Barry and McCarthy. All 4 are fantastic options though and I'd be happy with any combination of the 4
