Moylez hated the Riot last night..

Pretty ridiculous to say it considering that the clubs own marketing team adopted the fans 'if hibbo scores we riot' and emblazoned it all over the place.

What did he expect?
From what i made of his quote i think he wanted the fans to neck on with each other. Then again i could of been mistaken.

He didn't have to say anything at all, like so many other times where he could have kept schtum.

For me Moyes won't ever be loved by our fans, only admired. He doesn't really know what to say to get the fans on side. He could have come out and said no club in the world has fans that would do that etc, etc and we could have had the verbal equivalent of a group ham shank.

Instead he tries, and fails, to sour the memory.

His 'peoples club' quote is the only memorable shout I think I can remember from him.

What about that time he dragged a relagation plagued team into the Champions League, then maintained league postions in the most money hungry League in the World on a net spend of 1.7m.

Moyes loved it as much as we did really, but as manager he has to say something like that to prevent the FA stepping in or for future invasions WHEN Hibbo scores

It's a friendly, the FA have got **** all juristiction, the only way there would be a problem was if the ref reported i think.

He's just trying to deter future rioters, I think. There are many reasons to get at Moyes and many other threads, but for being pragmatic after a testimonial is a bit unnecessary really.

I don't subscribe to the notion that Moyes HAD to come out and say that.

I tend to think it would have been better if he'd have come out and said exactly how it was: it was 'only' a friendly, a testimonial for a loyal, 12-year servant of the club, around which a legend has been forged due to him never having scored. Moyes could have painted it exactly how it was - a celebration, good natured and with no harm done.

Any potential flames would have been dampened down. The authorities would have been put right (as if they needed to) and would be free to concentrate on more pressing matters.

The fact that he's alluded to it being "disappointing" pretty much infers that it was a mischievous act that warrants a good look.

Moyes. What an utter bellend.

Well it's not like the club did anything to try and prevent it happening, so if there was any chance of punishment they shouldn't have had the 'Hibbert scores we riot' slogan everywhere.

I wonder if Moyes was saying anything to the club's advertising department about the use of 'When Hibbert scores we riot' in posters and online. The club are bloody lucky that this isn't going to be taken any further by the looks of things, because they'd be f***ed.

This!

The match was almost sold on the folklore surrounding the Hibbert goal riot, albeit tongue in cheek.

The fact that it took place is actually part of what makes us "us". Far better to have done it in the dignified, harmless way last night than some competitive game where it would have flown back in our faces big-time.

Moyes perhaps doesn't get it, does he? Despite his infamous quote when he first came.

The dour prick.

'Ruined' the night did it Moyes? Well you ruined my night when you played a sh1thouse team at Anfield and seen us get tw*tted by the worse Liverpool side in memory.

Blert

Also this.

I don't really like Moyes. He's a good manager but he says some proper bellish things.
