I don't think it's manager speak to be fair mate, without sounding rude, maybe it's just a lack of your own knowledge on that regard?

Just a thought. Moyes working with spanish football and spanish players, with some talent in there (illarlmedi/canalas), could this be what he needs to develop a team to take on the top teams?

There is always his nature to hold a team back but perhaps working in spain is going to make him improve quite a bit dealing with not only more flair players but a league far different than ours?

I agree, hence the nature to hold back comment.

but its like taking a league 2 manager, sticking him in charge of real madrid for a year. He may be good, he may be terrible. But when he walks away from the job, having better or different coaches at least with better/different types of player to manage would surely to some extent improve him as a manager?

Said league 2 manager might drop back to that level afterwards but he then improves his team enough to gain promotions rather than to hold their own in the league.


A stretched example i know but you get the general idea.

Rule of thumb is to never in life go back once you've left mate, never ever works out as well second time and not just in footy either
