Hopefully he will be remembered for stopping the rot and sending us on our way.

Otherwise it means we won nothing.
Enjoy..

He was a very good manager for us, raised our expectations from avoiding relegation to expecting Europe. Once he had established us as a top 6 side though, he could have thrown a bit more caution to the wind and really tried to push on for Champions league rather than trying to hold what he had. And that was his biggest fault - he led us to believe we could be challenging for top 4 but never delivered it.

He promised us the stars, but could only deliver the moon.

I do think he got a raw deal at United - Van Gaal has basically survived due to his previous track record or he'd be out too.

But I think he fell into relying on being given time and allowed to start a season slow with his time with us, that it's now engrained in how he manages.

That didn't cut it at United. Didn't cut it abroad.

The minute he realises he had it lucky with us (ie a club that gave him time) and that it won't happen again, the better manager he'll be.

He was a horrible fit for La Liga. Tactically and also other areas off the pitch. I, myself am working in a foreign country and struggling with the language and can tell you how hard that is. It's not just the language, its culture and everything. You can't just rock up and just start doing things your way. Plus people lose patience with you if you can't communicate, being a leader, once you can't get through to the people you're working with, its over. He'll be back in England (or at least somewhere where the language and cultural barrier is less of a hurdle.)

He got shafted at Man U though. He had what 5? 7? less points than Van Gaal? Even Everton had 72 points that season. He got turfed because key inside people turned on him, the crowd was happy to give him time in the beginning then they got restless and went back on their word. Fair weather fans.

He will be top of the list for a Newcastle or Villa level club.

Villa changed there manager only a few weeks ago, they didn't even acknowledge Moyes and they would have known full well he was available. His job has ben in jeopardy for ages, he's been sitting on a tiny wage in Spain and I'm led to believe off a reliable it on another forum that his brother has been hawking him around. Villa certainly weren't interested, neither were their fans if you listen to the phone ins.

LVG really?? There is no comparison. LVG was set targets after the mess of Moyes and achieved them with weeks to spare. He currently sitting top of his Champions Lge group and goes top of the premiership if he beats Watford next week. Yep, very Moyesesque that.

People going on about Karma, the fella saw out his contract and got a chance to manage the best team in the country and 1 of the biggest in the world.

He then made a bid for 2 our players, got jogged on and ended up paying through the nose.

El Coco will never manage a team as big as Man Utd.

Just sayin.

Not many will people will manage clubs as big as Man United as only Real, Barca and Bayern are on the same level as them however I still wouldn't rule Martinez out of one of those Spanish jobs, he was getting linked with Barca at the end of his first season here. it should not be forgotten that he has already refused what many would call a bigger job than ours and the 2nd biggest in this country. I thing he's an exceptional manager who builds a complete club and is well on his way to doing it here, the big offers will come once he wins something here.

Think that has been largely ignored on this thread mate. Spot on with it

I think he'd see that as 'beneath' him, tbh. Moyes will surely wait now. He'll do the tv pundit circuit waiting for a decent PL opportunity to arise. He probably does have one bullet left in the chamber as far as a top flight job is concerned, purely because of the results he got here.

He's running out of track though.
