I support him but his approach to managing the squad so it’s able to contribute when needed does my head in. Rather than give fringe players minutes and talk them up to boost confidence he’s always got a ‘because’ as to why he isn’t playing them. He threw Dibling under the bus the other week when he said he hasn’t spoken to him and he needs to figure it out himself. The best managers build confidence throughout their squads because you never know who you need when.
I think it's been really obvious this year that the squad players outside our best 11 are mostly not premier league standard. When they are given chances, they perform terribly. We've seen that in the last week and the pathetic cup loss at Wolves. So really what choice has the manager got? SHould he give more minutes to players who are performing badly?

The big problems are that our recruitment was dire in the summer, and money was wasted. And we don't have a good enough squad for a long season. We need a clear out of all our squad players and to take squad building seriously. If someone isn't good enough for other teams then don't sign them.

Possibly, but Martinez never came back.
Southgate never came back.
Potter just done the same.
Plenty more went that route.
Not that I'd support it, but absolutely all three of those would walk over broken glass to be offered the Everton job.

Injuries and unavailability aren't an excuse. They happen to every team. You even know in advance when the AFCON is

Serious clubs build an actual squad knowing that unavailability is inevitable. We lose players and all we get is excuses. It's such a terrible mentality and a lack of preparation. Good clubs don't write off matches because they are missing players.

Obviously you want your best players available but it's impossible to have them all every game. That's why squad players need to be actual capable players. Something we have ignored and fail to do for years.
I also love the touching naivety that thinks having a few players back will see us beat the clubs Moyes has spent a career losing to.

People are in denial that we have just blown the easiest run of fixtures we will have all season and that the absentees will be returning to a far more difficult fixture list. Villa next and then an in-form Leeds side that know where the goal is...

Maybe not Southgate and club football again.
But yeah managers would, but thats the difference between league and international management.
You can get stuck in a wilderness out there and not fit back in to club football.

People are saying it's dramatic but the season is really over. There's nothing meaningful left to play for, and that's why I am so disgusted with the last 3 home games.

There needs to be accountability. These sort of results should cause changes.

He gave fringe players a chance in the League Cup against Wolves and was roundly condemned by all and sundry.

This side isn't finishing in Europe. We'll get KDH back - but Moyes will still pick him out of position. Branthwaite will need time to recover. I didn't expect Europe this season, but I did expect a serious attempt in the cups. Whatever about being unlucky with injuries and suspensions yesterday, Moyes threw away the League Cup like yesterday's chip paper. Pure arrogance. So, he gets no pass for this latest double failure.

The season is gone. It's only meaningful now for the Moyes Preservation Society.

Agree. They wont cause changes because at everton there is no criticism allowed. Its filtered out by the local media and everton fans are so beaten down by the kenwright crew they dont/cant protest…mark my words we are in a dire position and Moyes needs to be forced out…Its excuses after excuses but he bought/ sanctioned the purchase of dibling, barry etc.

Good analogy. We all know what happened to Moses: he spent 40 years wandering in the desert before he died within sight of the promised land. We've had 15 with Moyes...

Just swap out one letter and strap in for another 25 years of early cup exists and "stability".
25 years to go? I've got a chance then...

Stay for me.

He can’t control AFCON or injuries, both of which we as a fanbase know would occur.

We were never going to go from the prospect of 777 and oblivion straight to CL in this short space of time. Sacking managers left right and centre since his first tenure was part of what got us into a massive pile of poop in the first place.

I think a huge dose of reality would be beneficial to some fan’s heart health at the moment.

We’re on a bad run of form, it happens. It’ll happen again. Get over yourself.

Defending our two CFs on their pens did not help his cause...;.
