Moyes: "maybe the supporters don't know and expect more"

Well Moyes is privvy to more information about the inner workings of the club than any of us isn't he?

Interesting to see in that Guardian article that the cheapest season ticket at Liverpool is nearly double the cheapest season ticket at Everton.

Moyes get,s it alright hence the response but it,s late to bring up lack of resources that should have been done years ago in public. I have no problem excepting moyes threw the kitchen sink at Bill in private but they both played a part in a means to an end.

Agreed. You can't moan about resources when you've publicly fawned over the fella who's held you back.

He seems to think we shouldn't be allowed to criticise him. Just like his chairman.

So he expects fans who questioned his subs to turn round and admit he got it right? Well after you David, you admit when you got it wrong first.

Something tells me well be waiting a long time.

he'll leave with my upmost respect, he's done a great job for us...but every time he opens his mouth atm, he doesn't seem to be quite saying the right things, he seems to be devaluing his reputation here which is very disappointing. Think he should keep his mouth closed about everything tbh, get his head down until the end of the season and try everything to get us back into europe, avoid any contract talk from the media and then make his decision (hopefully to leave) at the end of it all.

The supporters know all too well, sadly he doesn't realize his own failings and as stated above - it is just an accumulation of same old same old that we've got tired of, and something which is even more glaring now that he is very uncertain of whether he wants the job anymore

What is highly alarming is that after 11 years he still doesn't understand the mentality of the supporters. He truly believes we haven't got the right to question him. All this inner circle if only you knew bollocks got tedious years ago. NO ONE BELIEVES YOU ANYMORE. Just go

As has been said on here a few times before, Moyes and Kenwright are two cheeks of the same arse. Moyes has been happy enough to work with the so-called constraints imposed on him, in fact I'm convinced I remember him praising Kenwright on occasion for backing him as much as was possible in the circumstances.

If Moyes was so irate or felt unable to operate in light of a lack of support from up top, then he should have either walked or shown his hand and taken the battle to them, letting the fans know. For my money, he's in the same boat as the board - they've ALL failed us.

Peoples Club my arse.

I'm reminded of how Moyes talked us up back in 2002 as being a big club who should be challenging for the league, and that he will do his utmost to get us there.

That he's done his best I don't doubt, but I'm bothered by how he's regressed from talking us up as title challengers to talking us down as over-achievers for consistently finishing best of the rest.

If you'd have told me during Moyes' first few months back in 2002 that 11 years later we would have one losing FA Cup final and mostly finishing between 5th-8th to show for it I would not have taken that.

Im pretty sure our wage bill is in the top 10.

Im at work, I'll post it once I get home.

Ok, cheers. Be interesting to see club-by-club stats from 2002-2012 for:

Gate Receipts
Overall Turnover
Overall Net Profit
Net Transfer Spend
Wage Bill

Might be a lot of work for you, maybe it's accessible online somewhere.

At least this is a good argument that we really are the peoples' club.

Joe Beardwood does a good write up on the most recent accounts, looking at our previous years till 2005-2006.

Worth a read.

In 2001 Everton generated 61% of their revenue from club controlled means; by 2012 it’s
35% and next year (after the new deal) it will be 25%
.
This is a real issue as it’s this

proportion of revenue (as well as league placing) that gives the club its advantage over Stoke, Wigan, Fulham etc.

The club controlled revenue has gone from £32m to £27.7m over the 7 year period a decline of 12.7% at a time when the Premier League has exploded. This performance goes agains the trend of other Premier league clubs.

Cheers Bill. You deserve every penny of that £125M you lot paid £20M for your shares.

There was a time when you could depend on a number of internet Evertonians to somehow spin that point. Where have they all gone ?
