Moyes decisions today.

The two players you mention are more defensive than attacking

Suppose it depends on how you look at the game and the player. Gibson is superb at getting attacks started by keeping it simple and then he has moments where he produces the attacking ball like Spurs first half on multiple occasions.

Just because people may put 'holding' or 'defensive' onto midfielder does not mean that the player or position is solely for defending and in Gibson's case the only defensiveness is to break up play and as soon as he does he is there to play it in an attacking way.

Wow
some crazy comments on here.
Wigan's one and two touch football today was superior to a lot of supposed better teams at goodison this season.
There are very few easy games in the premier league (ask City, for all their money).
Today was a good result, keeps us knocking on the door.
Moyes decisions today were correct.

Lmao. The only good players they had were Kone and Maloney. The rest were pub players.

The number 6 who seen alot of the ball had the touch of Jimmy Saville. They were by far the worst technically ive seen at Goodison this season

First off all Hitzlsperger in ahead of Naismith was an absolute joke.

The midfield first half was so misjointed it was unbelievable. All Osman wanted to do was drift inside and the right was left bare, bar Phil (pass backwards) Neville.

Also why the hell was Heitinga brought on in midfield ahead of Barkley. Was this some sort of "protect the back four" ploy from Moyes for the final 10 20 mins. Just annoyed that the lads not getting playing time and hes a better option (albeit less experienced) than players who are.

Yes we got the win and never looked in too much trouble but against a better side we would have taken a beating.

You've found yourself a super crack dealer mate

We were the better side and deserved to win, it dosen't matter if we didn't play amazing there have been games this season where we have been brilliant and not got 3 points, the main thing is we got another important 3 points and are still in the hunt for the top 4.

You're being pedantic though and ignoring the real issue, which is why you seem to think that Barkley would have been so much better than Hitz today.
Not pedantic. Gibson and Hitz both sitting midfielders. They aint like a fabregas or Nasri.

I believe we would have been better going forward if Barkley played.

Its not so much Hitz that annoyed md for Barkleys sake it was Heitinga on in midfield.

Midfield should have been:

Naismith Osman Gibson Pienaar

You sound like a man u fan.
Rooney was **** till he signed for them and became a world beater.
Two teams on the pitch and credit where it's due Wigan did a good job today.
Was a good win for us imo.
