Everton have been put on red alert for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Sportsmail revealed last month that the Portugal international was back on Everton's wishlist and reports in Portugal now say Sporting management have decided to put Moutinho up for sale at the end of the season.
Everton boss David Moyes came close to landing Moutinho in August but Sporting asked for a ridiculous £18million. Now the price is likely to be closer to £10m.

Moyes is also keen on Tottenham's Jermaine Jenas and Tom Huddlestone.

So the saga goes on ... maybe if it drags on till August we can get another 170 pages.

Oh dear If its in the News of the World it must be true:lol::

CHELSEA and Arsenal will slug it out over the summer for the signatures of Sporting Lisbon midfielders Miguel Veloso and Joao Moutinho.

The unsettled duo have been transfer-listed, with £15million-rated Veloso reported to have fallen out with coach Paulo Bento.

Veloso, 22, said: "I am ready for a major league now. I have no preference where I go."

Moutinho, also 22, added: "If an interesting offer comes up, Sporting will let me go."

Signed a new contract tonight until 2014.

The release clause has been lowered to 22.5M€ and the player no longer holds the right to a 10% of any offer above 15M€.

Looks like we'll have to show the money.

He has given up the right to receive 10 per cent of a future transfer and 10 per cent of an eventual offer, worth over €15 million and rejected by Sporting.

Giving up the right to receive any of the transfer fee could be a way of ensuring he does get to leave. sporting get the entire fee, and he gets to move on where he wants, without them trying to stop it. A win win for both parties.
