Moutinho - all talk in here please.

I really dont see where Moutinho would fit into our starting eleven despite being a cracking player , with Neville , Arteta and Fellaini to fit in the middle of the park not to mention if Cahill has to play in there four or even five into two does not fit,

If it is true that there is interest, then we should be thinking about who we will be selling to pay for him. Winning the FA cup won't even buy an armfull*.

*with apologies to Tony Hancock

Best comedian ever to be named after three body parts.

Couldn't resist it, I'll get my coat.

I'd be happy with Moutinho and around 4 freebies and loans.

It ain't happening though.

It could happen, Cal mate.

Sporting is in turmoil over the elections for the club. It seems cash is needed.

Don't think they(or we- double agent here :)) will lower the price tag below 20M€.

I watched the last match of this lad...and I really do think he's the best player in this crappy league. A real player with great consistency and no injuries (the only injury that prevented him from playing for Sporting was the flu).

so sotnas, are you saying he is developing in to a player of arteta like quality?

Honestly, mate? Arteta is nowhere near this kids rythm. He's breathtaking, he tires you up just for the watchin'.

Have you seen Porto last night? (I still think Utd will go through anyway) Moutinho is a step ahead of those lads, just because he mixes the best of the three players you saw in Porto's midfield.

He is as cultured as Fernando, he is as good technically as Lucho Gonzalez and he runs as tireless as Meireles.

And he never gets injured.

A glowing endorsement if I ever saw one.

I didn't have a chance to watch the match yesterday so I'll try to catch in on a replay somewhere to watch him play.

Of course if a player like him does that well against a club like United, surely they'd look at him as well.

He didnt play last night mate, Sotnas was comparing him to an acclectic mix of the Porto midfeild who got a rtesult against Utd last night!

He has a great engine, for sure.

And last night I think you could see why I once mentioned Christian Rodriguez, who scored the first. He's tireless, he's a left winger, he's good on the ball and he's got drive.

We could so use this guy in our team.

Oh right. Forgot he plays for Sporting Lisbon, not Porto.

Can you they don't show a lot of Portuguese football over here?

His goal recently in the Champions League when Lisbon got ****ed was absolutely superb.

Dont even mention it, mate.

He was a bit sloppy in that game, but he worked his socks off. Never stop running and fighting.

Last night I was absolutely amazed. Porto has never been better than Sporting in direct confrontation (people here say that Porto developed a fear of playing Sporting because they rarely win), and to see the difference between both teams... I just can't find an explanation, especially after so many good matches Sporting made against tough opposition in the CL in previous seasons (Inter, Utd, Roma). Always had close games and this season we were ****ed by every big name team we've come up across (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern).

Still, Moutinho always gives all he's got, no matter the course of the match. He's resilient and that makes him special. He'd fit well in Everton's side and Moyes would love him.
