Moutinho - all talk in here please.

Joao Moutinho has given his clearest indication yet that he could soon be playing in The Premier League.

The Sporting midfielder confesses that he would find the opportunity to move to England difficult to turn down, alerting Everton to a potential summer bid.

The Toffees have long admired the 22-year-old Portugal international, with Sporting claiming last July that an £11.8million offer was rebuffed.

However, Moutinho told Portuguese media: “If I receive a good offer from England it will be difficult to reject.”

Moutinho is under contract at Estadio Jose Alvalade until 2013, which means any potential clubs interested in the youngster would be forced to pay top price if they are to tempt Sporting into selling one of their brightest talents.

Wonder where he will end up then!

1. Lazy journalist sits at desk spends his whole workday looking at porn.

2. "Oh crap its 5 minutes to deadline" he says to himself

3. Googles "everton transfer targets"

4. copys word for word a message board post from 15 months ago.

5. emails to editor who's too busy looking at porn to bother reading it and forwards it to print

6. And that's a wrap! Another hard days work at the Mirror.

2 things -

1 - this will get moved to the Moutinho thread
2 - Story's been brought up because there are no other stories doing the rounds.

I'll believe it when Sporting and Everton are in negotiations.

If it is true that there is interest, then we should be thinking about who we will be selling to pay for him. Winning the FA cup won't even buy an armfull*.

There will be a budget of sorts, I think. I would imagine there will be somewhere in the region of £10-15m, given we didn't really have a net spend last season. If Moutinho could be prised away for about £15m, which sounds about right to me, we could effectively blow it all on him.

Any more than £15m and I don't think it's worth pursuing a deal, even if we could find the cash.
