Less of a player to watch, he's not as exciting but he's a more effective player.

Yeah, because he's a cog in a machine. I'm not doubting he's a quality player, cos he is, any Premiership team would want him. But in terms of being "world class" with your Messi's, Ronaldo's etc he's not even in that league for me.

Fergie might have made the lad a better all round team player, but he's lost what made him a stand out -- that no fear gift he had of getting the ball, being able to beat 4 players then smash a 25 yarder into the net. 20 goals a season isnt nothing to be sniffed at, but with Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes, Tevez all supplying you of course you'd get that.

When you see him for England and hasnt got the supply (even though he should), he's [Poor language removed]. But if he had that fire again of making something out of nothing and winning games, I'll change my mind.

Rooney is a very good player but not the player i thought he was going to be at Everton.

He's changed and it's not for the better.

He absolutely tore Euro 2004 to shreds when he was at us, but now he is [Poor language removed] for England.

Not that i'm arsed, i'd love to see the **** have a career ending injury.

Hello, first post in these parts, 27 year old lifetime fan here.

I think the most important factor in all of this is that Zahivi is representing both us and the player, which is what gave me the real hope of signing him all those weeks ago. Forget Moyes dithering or not, Kenwright lying or not, Zahivi would not be wasting his time on this if he didnt think a deal would happen, especially with how long its taking. If there was no chance of Sporting dropping their asking price, or of accepting a convoluted deal with several payments all over the place, then Zahivi would have told us to pay up or move on.

In terms of our own transfers, I think (and indeed I hope) our whole approach has hinged on the Moutinho deal. He is the player that Moyes has wanted since day one, and he doesnt know how much money he has for other targets until the Moutinho deal is sorted.

There's not been many big transfers go through this summer, let alone any that I wish we had (apart from maybe Keane, but I'm almost as happy seeing the redshites paying way over the odds for him), I think its going to be a hectic last week of transfers for all clubs.

nice to see your in a particullaly good mood tonight Cal :P

Rooney's waaaay over rated. Always has been and always will be. Not mention him being an utter **** as well. Exuse my Latvian.

Throw the transfer budget at him and get him over here. The only other relative buy we can get is M'Bia, everyone else fell through or doesnt want to come.

He's the only class player we can get. Get him, try and survive this season and regroup for next and build a team. If we were wise we would've done a Fernandes/M'Bia and whoever else deal and left Moutinho because he costs a bomb.

But we aint wise. Now we cant get a new striker, or back up keeper, so I say [Poor language removed] it, just throw the money at Moutinho.

Rant over!
