Why is every one still going on about Manny?? That boat has sailed, lets forget about him an move on. If we do sign him then fair enough. But untill then, forget about him.

He was so [Poor language removed] last season i wouldn't go for him.

Sporting Lisbon have not heard anything from Everton since they rejected a bid for Joao Moutinho over the weekend.

The midfielder announced after Sporting's friendly victory over Blackburn on Saturday night that he was keen to leave the club.

He revealed that Everton were interested in signing him and Sporting later confirmed that an offer of 15million euros (£11.8 million) had been lodged and subsequently turned down.

Further details of the bid have now been published in the Portuguese press, with it being reported that Everton wanted to sign Moutinho on a five-year deal.

Everton are also understood to have offered Moutinho an annual salary of 2.5million euros (£2million), which is double what he currently earns at Sporting.

According to the reports, Everton have not been put off by Sporting's rejection and are considering a fresh approach.

However, Sporting are demanding 25million euros (£19.7million) and Everton are believed to still want him but at a lower figure.

The Premier League club have not been in contact yet though, with Sporting directors confirming: "From Sunday there has been no more movement in this subject."

How do you know this like? As far as I'm concerened we've been linked with him a few times over the summer, he's still a potential target and there's no problem with him being mentioned.

Personally I don't think we'll get him but some people are still confident and why not? He's been here twice before and he could be back again.

Because at the end of the season, moyes said his (manny) situation would be sorted in a few weeks. An it was.............nothing was done. It's constant with him, everyone still wanting him. I just dont get it. I just dont rate him that high. He has the potentail to be top notch, but thats it. He's never shown it in anything more than flashes.

Any way back to a class midfielder, Moutinho. The more i see the more i like. Im gettin a bit worried thou, thats it's not done yet. Come on Everton get it rapped up before someone else fancys a pop at him.

We haven't signed anyone yet mate, this is Everton and we take ages to get deals done. If you remember last summer we never came in for him until very late, who's to say it won't happen again. We just don't know at the moment, Moyes obviously rates him so there could be a chance.

You obviously never saw it but others did, it's all about opinions really. For me and alot of others Manny had a very good spell with us in his first spell, he gave us another dimension and linked excellently with Arteta.

In his second spell he's was inconsistent but he had his reasons. He'd had injury problems and hadn't played alot. We've all seen what injuries and lack of fitness can do to quality players (Arteta), it can happen to the best of them.

There's no problem with mentioning him at present, he like alot of other players is still a potential target, I don't think we'll get him but he's still an option. Just because you don't like him doesn't make that any different.

hasn't the new valencia manager said Fernandes has really impressed him in pre-season with his attitude and that?

Yes he has, doesn't really mean anything though.

They need money and they've said themselves he doesn't have a future there. He may well stay but I think if we went in for him like we did last season with Benfica he'd join us. Just my opinion like but he has made friends here and did enjoy his spells.

If we don't get Moutinho I can't see a better option than Fernandes.

They aren't gona turn around and say he's shyte are they, no one would be interested. They're gonna big him up in the media as much as they can and make out they want to keep him so they can get more money for him if any clubs come calling, just like we've done with AJ and sporting are doing with moutinho.

Thats the point tb. Apart from moyes right at beginning of summer saying his situation will be looked at there has been no actual link to him. Just rumours on everton forums

Everton are set to make a new bid believed to be around £13m for Sporting Lisbon star Joao Moutinho after an initial bid of £11.8m was rejected.

Sporting confirmed that they have not yet heard from Everton after their first bid was rejected but sources close to the club suggest a new bid will now be made after a fee for forward Andrew Johnson was agreed with Fulham.
Moutinho has expressed his desire to play for the Toffees, calling on the two teams to agree a fee for the skipper.
Sporting’s directors said earlier today - “From Sunday there has been no more movement in this subject.”

13 million, what a joke. We should pay the price Sporting want and get it over and done with. If we can't come to an agreement move on and look at another player.

Where wasting valuable time, we don't want another situation like the Manny situation. We leave it so late, something happens, he either stays at Sporting and moves elsewhere and we end up getting Tommy G on loan again.

Get is sorted Everton, pay a reasonabe price!!!
