May be in the minority, doesnt make me any less right about him though. Why arent any other clubs in for him? After all the lads a genius:lol:

Why isn't anyone else after Moutinho? After all he is a genius isn't he?

As I've said about 100 times to you if a player continually moves around and finds no consistency at one club he's going to go off the radar a bit.

Arteta done the same when he was around that age, we where the only team in for him and he turned out to be a gem. Same with Pienaar, he was good at Ajax, lost his form at Dortmund and we took a chance on him.

That is harsh to say that Carsely was [Poor language removed] ghost.

Well yes and no, we offer 15m Euros, they say "hahahahahaha"
Then the player goes all Rambo and says he wants to leave, the club goes all Rambo and says 20m OR nothing.
Everton then say we will only pay 16m, they say we want 20m, so then we turn on the charm, put our arm round them and say, hey lets split the difference and call it 18m.

There you go job done, or would you rather we bid 20m str8 away and then they say we want 25m and we do the deal? COS I KNOW I WOULD!!!!! But it doesnt make good business sense.

If the kid had shut his mouth, probably Sporting demands would come down in respect to the kid's personal problems. Since the little guy couldn't hold his breath, all the supporters expect nothing less than 25M€.

I don't think the chairman will bend on this one.

this mouthino [Poor language removed] is just pure bollocks.

They rate him at 20million and we offer 11.

We then up our offer to 13million, the exact same 13 million that we will be receiving for Johnson. This blatently proves that Moyes has been told that he has to sell before we can buy.

we are offering the exact same money that fulham paid for Johnson, it takes the piss that we think we can buy a superstar for the same cash as Johnson.

We havnt signed a single player and the season starts in 3 weeks time, we are 2 major players down from last season.

Its a joke, Moutinho wont come, its this years Gonzales bid that just happend to make an appearence as soon as an EGM is called.

arent people getting there pounds and euros mixed up ?
dont they want 20 million euros (£16 million)? but we offered 14 million euros (£11 million) ?

No they want 25 million EUROS, which is about 19 million GBP and we first offered just 11million GBP, and have now offered just 13 million GBP !!!

Its a joke !!!!

I like the kid an really want him. But £20m is he really worth it? £16-£18m is the most id want us to pay.

If you want the player you have to pay the money nowadays. In todays market he's definatly worth it. Man utd bought Nani and Anderson for a similar price, Valencia bought Manny for 12 million, Modric was bought for 16 million etc etc.

He's definatly worth it, I have no doubts about it.

Have we offered? How do you know?

There are multiple press reports that state we offered 11million GBP, there are plenty of links to them in this thread.

There is also a further link stating that we have nudged up our bid to just 13million, again the link is within this thread.

Ye i understant that mate. But their must be a point were you say no more. I wont pay that for him.

I do really want him here thou.

the club haven't actually put a valuation on him. the E25m figure comes from the buy out clause in his contract that in any case has to be activated before june or it no longer applies

Yes, but the Chairman made a compromise with the player that if someone came up with that figure, Sporting would allow him to leave anyway.

But the compromise was about 25M€ not any lower figure.

More details came out on the press. The player or his father had a failed investment project and that's reason he wants out, in order to earn the necessary money to cover for it.

Sporting was working on a solution that could ease the players concerns and this "outburst" came as a surprise to everyone.

There hasn't been a rupture and that is shown by all the carefull words spoken by members of the board.

In the statement released Sporting says they are trying to reach a solution that will keep the player in the squad.

I'd say 18-20 million is a fair price for a player of his quality, potential and experience. Anything over then I'd say no, too expensive.

It has been suggested that they want €25 million. If they have come about then it is obviously an attempt to drive us away, so we tempt them with a higher bid because the player has expressed his wish to go they may want to accept it.

If you are buying a house do you just go to the asking price because one bid was rejected, no you don't. You try to tempt them to sell at a lower price.

It is called negotiations.

Negotiations take part when one of the parties are willing to sell and the other to buy.

Don't think Sporting are willing to sell.
