Joao Moutinho has put Premier League clubs on alert by admitting that he would be interested in a switch to England.
The Portuguese midfielder currently plays for Sporting and he maintains that he is enjoying life with the Lisbon club.

However, the 22-year-old is keen to improve and may feel his best option is to secure a move to a different league.
He believes he could make an impact in England and reports suggest Everton could be mulling over a summer swoop.

The Toffees were strongly linked with Moutinho before the start of the current campaign and David Moyes may decide to renew his interest.

"I'm happy at Sporting but I also want to progress as a player and believe I can succeed in England," Moutinho, who has been capped 19 times by his country, said in the Daily Mirror.

We can surely afford moutinho if we offload anichebe, osman, saha, valente, hibbert, VDM. That's about 100k saving on wages per week, plus whatever transfer fee we could recoup.

We can dream if we want too. But reality says no way Jose. No matter what the glad rags say. We have no money so I don't feel bad about it. It's just reality. We will have to sell like we did with Andy Johnson to get anyone. We could see Victor & Peanut go for Mountinho but I rather doubt It.

2027: GOAL Bayern Munich 3-1 Sporting (agg 8-1)
There's a glimmer of hope for Sporting? Well maybe not but one-time Everton target Joao Moutinho shows why he is so highly rated as he rifles a right footed effort into the top corner from 20 yards-out.

:@...

With our current squad, if all are fit again next season, I think just this addition in terms of quality would do me fine. Then one or 2 bench-warmers to replace the likes of Jacobsen and Shandy.

Love to see a starting lineup that leaves 3 of the following on the bench even in a 451:
Arteta, Cahill, MoFro, Pienaar, Ossie, Moutinho, Rodwell, Neville

Depth is key really, are we finally reaching a stage were all weak links in the squad are eradicated and all memories of Wally out of here.

If we could get Mbia/Poulson and Mouthino id be made up, i guess its to much to ask to look for a winger or two.

Though to be fair i think we will sign another centre half and left back.
