3 or 4 down?! That's absurd

Schurrle chance that he blazed over.

Eto'o free header from the Ramires cross.

The clip into the side netting.

The Eto'o open goal that Barry intercepted.

etc. etc.

We played well generally but towards the end of the first half we were on the ropes and hanging on. On another day we could have been three down, but we defended well enough to prevent it and Gareth Barry was a machine.

I thought he was ok they did miss easy chances in the first half - but he realised it was a bad day at the office!

That was all Mourinho was saying. The only thing which was slightly out of order was when he said we didn't try to win the game, but I think that was a passing comment not meant as it looked

Jose is Chelsea's manager isn't he?. No disrespect to the man or his team, but I cannot give a flying f*** as to his lamentations. Football is a funny old game of swings and roundabouts, taking rough with smooth, rub of the green etc etc...we won and 3 extra points on the table is all I care about. Which , in fairness, is probably what Jose was carping on about

Goals win games, not how many chance's you have-we had pretty much the same on target as them, how many times have we missed chance after chance in games to only then draw or lose, [fulham to name one last season etc],dont forget i think it Jose that carried on like a kid when they drew 1-1 in the past as Goodison and kept saying they won the game 2-1 after having a goal disallowed i think it was.

I thought the highlights were actually kind to Everton, we got battered for the first 60 mins yet the highlights were even and then showed Everton as superior in the last 30.

He's not happy because we effectively did to Chelsea what his sides look to do every time they go a goal or two up.

We just did it with some added Spanish pizazz.

Go suck on a lemon, Jose.

Jose has always said good words about Everton.

He's right though, the amount of chances Chelsea had they could have won 6-1.

Thankfully we defended well and got the 3 points.

Not to quote you directly (but you are the latest to say it) talking about what if's and chances is silly.

What matters is when the ball lands IN the onion bag, not near it.

If we talk about 'what ifs' then equally we could have bagged 26 goals in attacks that didn't come off. The only thing that matters is we took home the three points and we played well despite being under the cosh.

I like Mourinho, he is good for drama. He has been complimentary of us in the past. He plays the media well, and of course it is about him, he is playing a persona. All designed to get the mental advantage on his fellow managers. He does it incredibly well, unlike our erstwhile former manager (seemingly one of the two or three things missing from his locker to make the transition from great to brilliant). I am glad Mourinho is back in English football, we are better for it.

Oh yeah, who got the three points today? What? EVERTON mate, EVERTON!!!!

The last 20 mins of the first half and the first 20 of the second was all Chelsea and they missed a lot of good chances. Even in this period we where breaking quite well and getting chances ourselves without seeing much of the ball.

Outside of that we held our own and only a poor striker and a shiitbag ref stopped us putting a few more past them.

OUTRAGE! DISGRACE! EMBARRASSMENT!

Opposition manager with a very expensive strikeforce bemoans the fact that they couldn't put away any of their 22 shots. They had the majority of possession and put us under some serious pressure at times, he's articulating his frustration. This desire to cause a fuss out of nothing is ridiculous. He didn't try and insult Everton, didn't suggest we were out of order in how we played, he talked about his own team and his own players.
If the game was reversed and we'd lost after that many shots and that much pressure, I'd expect Martinez to express frustration that we one didn't score.

Spot on. Mourinho's assessment was pretty accurate. He himself said it doesn't matter about statistics, it matters about goals.

I have always liked Mouriniho but I have a feeling it is all going to end in tears on his second stint at Chelsea, you should never go back Jose lad.

Sure we rode our luck yesterday but its a results business and we won

they should have been out of sight. Just like we should have been against Norwich, West Brom and Cardiff. They didn't put their chances away, we did. At least Jose acknowledged that much
