Are the Angels any good? No way you'll lose many, unless the Angels and Rangers are both good. And the Rangers won't be good.

Good point. I think the Angels are clearly the second best team in the AL West. After that though the M's, A's, and Rangers have tons of questions.

I just think replacing Cano, Boomstick, Segura, Paxton, and Diaz (among others) is going to be very, very difficult.

Gonna be a looooong day this.

Nats getting hits, Mets getting K'd.

Still, winning and deGrom has no Earned Runs... 161.5 games to go

Blanked the Nats, and got the interesting stat of going....

38-12 in opening day for the last 50 years. How impressive is that.

Scherzer proved again that he's the man with 12K's, but deGrom going to 1.2 frames less struck out 10. Cy Young is going to be fun!

I’m not sure what all that means but that was a dull opener. Doesn’t matter though. Wins a a win.

In my short time following I have noticed Mets being generally boss at the start of the season before it all goes crap.

Basically in the last 50 years, the Mets record on opening day is 38-12, which is the best of any team in any of MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL. Impressive.

I'll take every game being that boring if it means the Mets get a big fat "W" at the end of each game.

Scherzer struck out 12, deGrom struck out 10, but pitched 1.2 innings less than Scherzer. Impressively, Seth Lugo had a perfect inning striking out all 3 batters. Familia the "Jeurys" still out on him i'm afraid (get it?), just can't warm to him.

161 games to go, and we're tied with the Phills

So what you’re saying is....

ITS ON

Verlander outpitched Snell and Springer homered for 3rd consecutive Opening Day as the Astros continued to be undefeated as an organization on Opening Day since Bud Selig (spit) forced our move to the AL with a 5-1 win over Tampa.

Reigning Cy Young winner Snell (JV got robbed) didn't once allow more than 2 earned runs in any start at home last year but he got tagged for all 5 by Houston.

Altuve and Brantley also went yard for the Astros.
