Why do modern devices require you to hold the power button for several seconds, just to switch on or off. A heart monitor, I can understand, but a radio ffs?
But if you turn something off by accident, it is unlikely to be a problem unless it takes an age to switch on again. Which they do! In the old days, (albeit apart from valves) things came on and off immediately.I think I can answer this one. Because most devices are portable and the several seconds thing avoids anything being turned off by accident whilst moving.
