Doesn't say which one but I guess it's the anterior since that's the most common. I had one snipped and reattached through keyhole surgery and, barring complications, sounds like start of next season is about right.

Just hope Anichebe's doesn't turn out to be a cruciate (posterior) as well once they scan it... (normally caused by impact to shin or front of knee joint, with knee instability and calf pain).

He was looking to get Evertons player of the Season too...ahead of Jagielka and Cahill...shame. He will get Goal of the Season though...

...Just worried about the start of next season really...as we can see from this season - a good start is very important - if we had gotten one we would be up there with Villa.

Get well soon, Mikky lad and come back strong. We need you!

But I agree with the positive posts of many on here this morning. We can still do well, even without him.

Last season, he wasn't playing as well as this and we still got Uefa qualification. We can do it again - just not as elegantly.

The pity is that we were playing some stuff in recent weeks that's been the best I've seen us play in seasons. I don't think we're going to be as effective as we have in the last few months, sadly.

As well as his passing and drive, Mikel kept the ball and hardly ever misplaced his passes - at least in recent months. That we will miss.

But the rest of the side can still step up. The defence should be as strong as ever. Steven Pienaar is coming back. Ditto Osman, Saha. It's all good stuff. And we've still got Timmy Cahill who can get goals from nowhere.

I'm still hopeful and optimistic. Keep the faith.

Very bad news. So we have to move on. For me Osman is not good enough to fill his boots IMO so does cahill drop back or use Fellaini. Don't know neither of these I think will provide that bit of creativity that is needed. Is this perhaps a role that VDM could fill or bring Yobo back and move Lescott up into midfield? Is Rodwell ready to take up this position?

We will have to see.

If his injury is for 7 months like some predict, that means he will be staying at Everton for another half a year (incase City, Arsenal, Atletico etc... bid for him) yes? As he couldnt complete a medical?

The only thing worse than the news about Arteta is my ****wit Newcastle supporting friend giving my the business all day.

He didn't even watch the match! What a twit.

To bad you don't have faith in Ossie like I do. Not a Arteta but who is. We have a strong suppoting cast we just looked a little leg weary yesterday and took the foot off the gas. Look for a big bounce back this week. Still think we are in the mix for Europe.(y)

Don't worry lids, I think Peanuts can do a similar thing to Arteta, he was boss at it at Ajax, and to be honest I prefer gozzer on the left he's more direct!

Howard
Hibbert Jags Lescott Baines
Neville Rodwell
VDM/Anichebe Pienaar Gosling
Jo

Or Fellaini AM with Pienaar on a wing. b)

I'm worried about the effect it will have on the lads' confidence.

We've been playing with a smile and a degree of calm assurance that everything in the Blue garden is looking good, regardless of the teams we played, I think the lads felt that the team was playing so well that we could beat just about anyone.

DM's job, as well as finding someone to fill the gap that Mikey leaves, is to make sure that the confidence doesnt disappear with an 'oh god, without Mikey we're stuffed' kind of attitude which I must say is prevalent on this thread!

It's a fact that we play well when he plays well but who would have thought we could have stayed in 6th when Yak etc all got injured?

Come on guys, it's all so bloody depressing, let's keep the faith.

massive blow, but there is a feeling around the team now that they can cope with anything, I would think that Rodwell & Gosling [new tricky Trev?] are in for the rest of the season.

get well soon Micky

worst possible news for us i think

absolutely sick, hope he recovers to and is still at the top of his game, i felt in recent weeks he was going to carry us all the way to wembley, he was just hitting form at the right time :(
